SOURCE: paper jam

sometimes, even we think that the jammed papers were already remove, there might instance that a pieces of paper stuck on the printer. i want you to follow the steps to somehow eliminate that message on your printer screen.

1. press the power ON button to turn the printer off.
2. unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
3. wait for 1 minute and plug it back in.
4. if you still have that "paper jam" message, continue to SOLUTION II.

1. On the rear of the product, press in the tab on the left side of the rear access door to release the door. Pull the door away from the product to remove it.
CAUTION: Do not try to clear a paper jam from the front of the product. Doing so can damage the print mechanism.

2. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers if you see one.
CAUTION: If the paper tears while being removed from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the product. Loose pieces of paper will cause future paper jams.
3. Replace the rear access door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place.
4. Press OK to continue the current print job.
Note: If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.

  1. Turn off the unit, then unplug the power cord.
  2. Press in the tab on the left side of the rear clean-out door to release the door. Remove the door by pulling it away from the unit.
  3. Wipe the paper rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers with your fingers to clean all the way around.
  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, then replace the rear access door.
  5. Plug the unit back in and turn it on.

This time, try to print something.
Thank you so much.

best regards,

SOURCE: hp 2355 all in one error message

mine HP was acting the same way after a jam. I contacted hp and they told me it was a hardware issue and that I would need to purchase a new printer. I found a KB on thier site for this issue. It involved removing both ink carts and then reseting the printer with the ink carts out. it seemed to work.

Thhis error is usually due to a dirty photcell (sensor) in the tray 2 paper feed assembly or a broken sensor flag in the same assembly. Start be removing all cartridges and the transfer belt. Look in the bottom of the printer below the lowest cartridge slot for a removeable cover. That's the area your problem is probably in. I have incuded a link to a free PDF of complete service manual below. Good luck.

Paper Jam Error on HP Printer

Paper Jam is the most common issue in all the HP Printers ( Officjet, Photosmart, Deskjet Printers )

What Causes a Paper Jam ?

  • Paper thickness.
  • Room temperature OR due to Dust in atmosphere or the room.
  • Paper pulled out in a hurry and paper pieces stuck in Rollers or Carriage
  • Could be Hardware Failure
NEVER PULL THE PAPER STUCK IN THE PRINTER FROM FRONT SIDE OF THE PRINTER ( unless the paper is 3/4th visible in front view if you open the printer front panel door )

Follow the instructions below to resolve Paper Jam issue.
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Open the rear access door ( or duplexer )
  3. Check for any bits of paper stuck, if so, remove them.
  4. Open the front access door where you see the cartridges.
  5. Check for any paper pieces, if so, remove them.
  6. Take a lint free cloth. Little bit Damp ( use water )
  7. Clean the Rear rollers pushing it upwards and close the door.
  8. Close the front access door.
  9. Connect the power cord and power on the printer.
  10. It should be ready to print/copy/scan/fax.
To clean the duplexer ( 2 - sided printing device ) remove the duplexer and clean the rollers you find inside.

My officejet 5610 says "carriage jam. Open Door etc. I can't find a door to the carriage.

here are some solutions for your carriage jam error.

1. Clear any jam...remove loose paper.
2.Clear the jam from the back of the printer
turn off the printer...remove the rear access door..
pull the paper out of the roller and return the rear access door.
3. Clear the paper jam from the front of the printer..while printer is on.. open the carriage access door..
disconnect the power cable from the back.. remove the paper output tray.
look inside the product..check for torn papers..gently pull out the paper from the roller...return the paper output tray and the carriage access door. plug the power corn and turn on..
4. Make sure the carriages move freely...while the printer is on.. open the carriage access door.
disconnect the power cord from the back..remove the paper output tray...look inside if the carriage is stuck and if there is no papers or object that restrict the carriage to move..return the output tray.. return the carriage access door...
And lastly after doing this steps try to reset the printer and try to print..

To reset the the power button to turn on the printer..disconnect the power cord from the product..disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.. wait for 15 seconds.. plug the power cord to the wall socket....plug the power cord at the back of the printer.. press the power on of the printer.. try to print the test page...

Good luck! hope this solve the problem

HP 5610 printer won't print

Unplug this beast. Take the old ink cartridge out and re-insert. Also, check for any other jammed papers that need to be removed. Then turn this beast back on. See if that does anything old chap.

Trying to fax out something and it keeps telling me jammed

Open up the cover over the adf feed. Make sure there's no paper caught in the mechanism. If I recall correctly (don't have one in front of me), the rollers can be lifted out of this one. Try this and make sure you didn't miss anything. DO NOT FORCE IT. If the rollers don't snap out with only a little pressure, seek another way to pull them out, or perhaops I was incorrect.

If there's no paper, you probably have a stuck or broken sensor flag. The feeds use these flags to detect the presence of paper, so if it's stuck, it's detecting paper when there isn't supposed to be, so the printer thinks you're jammed. If you see the flag and it appears to be stuck, use a stretched paper clip to get it back in place. Again, DO NOT FORCE IT, or you could bereak the flag or the sensor.

If the flag appears to be broken, then you will have to call HP if the unit is in warranty. They do not allow ASPs to work on inkjet printers in warranty and you have to return the unit to them. Often, they will cross-ship you a replacement. Call 1-800-HP-INVENT
