Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

RCA D52W20 The T.V. will not turn on. The TV will click three times and then the power will turn off. When the back panel is off you can hear the clicking noise coming from a small white box with copper wires inside of it. It's on the left handside when facing the back of the T.V. Do you know what the problem is thanks.

The solder looks ok but I'm no expect. Let's say it is the flyback how much do you think this repair would cost to have a tech come and fix it. I'm trying to decide if it's worth fixing or not. Thanks for the help

Check on the bottom of that coil with the copper wires. the solder may be de graded thats a common issue with that chassis if that doesnt help you will most likely need the flyback as thats the second most common part that will cause the symptom youre describing. Let me know if I can assist you further.

a tech will charge about 120.00 for the flyback and possably another 250 to 300 hundred for the service call and labor. you may want to call and have them give you an estimate on replacing the flyback. Or if you can solder, I can post a link where you can get a new flyback for less than 50 dollars and they provide free tech support so you can do the repair yoursel. If you would like the link here it is you would need flyback number 259296 for your model TV

Push and hold power button. If it cycles and blinks on/off in 3s or 9 times, it is a power problem. Replace the deflection board. Cost about 250.00

U MUST HEAT IT UP BEFORE IT WILL TURN COMPLETELY ON U HAVE TO HEAT UP THE CURICIT BOARD AND THE BACK OF THE T.V. BEST WAY TO DO SO IS USE A HAIR DRYER AND TAKE OF THE PANEL IT WILL WORK FASTER.

RCA D52w20 TV WON'T POWER UP

I had the same problem and it was the cp150. It cost me $2. Easy to change. I would look in the back and see if any of the capacitors are popped or bulging out on the top.
