Sounds like your drain is clogged a bit downstream from the disposal. The water is backing up into the vent pipe which is causing the water to flow back to the sink and dishwasher. Follow the drain line to see if there is a long run of fairly small diameter drain pipe before it enters the larger drain. This will be under the house or in the basement. There should be a cleanout plug where you can insert a drain snake. Using a drain snake through a cleanout can be messy, but isn't very difficult. If you don't have a snake, the manual ones are pretty cheap (way cheaper than calling a plumber!) But there are many sizes, so measure how long you need before you buy. If you are considering renting one, you won't need the big power operated job - that's for big sewer pipes.

DISHWASHER FILLING UP WIYH WATER WHEN NOT IN USE

Check to see if dishwasher drain is attached to garbage disposer. Running the disposer when the dishwasher drains and it will help keep it clean but if the disposer drain line plugs then the water can drain back into the dishwasher. If it does not connect there then you have a slow kitchen drain and this can be fixed by having a plumber snake it. Often it is plugged with grease that can be cleared with boiling hot water poured down the drain. If this is not the problem then check to see if the dishwasher drain is raised as high as it can go under the sink cabinet. Fasten it up with a strap if needed. This will create a trap to keep the water from flowing back into the dishwasher. Do this regardless of your problem. Lastly If the dishwasher does not drain and it is connected to the disposer then the problem is that the knock out plug was not removed when the disposer was installed. Remove the hose at the disposer and knock it out with a screwdriver. This plug is there so you can install disposer without tying a dishwasher in. Otherwise it would leak there. A slow drain may back up and run into the dishwasher before you see any water appear in the sink. If you raise the dishwasher line to the underside of the counter top you should see water in the sink before it begins to drain into the dishwasher. A slow drain may only show up when you are doing a lot of dishes.

Why does my dishwasher stop during cycles and the cycle light blinks?

it has few functions , so break them down to this.
does water flow in correctly . hot an cold
does the pump re-cycle water well inside . reflow lots of spray.
then does it pump out correctly an flow easily into garbage disposal , check the back flow valve for stoppage if it has one {its in the large plastic pipe right before the disposal.lets water flow but compactor garbage is blocked, it sticks a lot closed }
and is the door latch secure test it by opening suddenly is all you can do.
you might have to open the door quickly to check these items like spray or pumping.

Maytag MDBH985AWS leaking

not sure where or how its leaking.- ??. is it leaking out of the dishwasher?, or where the hose hooks into the garbage disposal? here's a check for you tho. make sure that the hose going to the garbage disposal routes
above the disposal and loops back down to where it connects into the garbage disposal. This will keep the water from back-flowing into your dishwasher. Hope that helps. gGood luck

When dishwasher is emptying it is backing into sink

there is probably nothing wrong with Dishwasher itself.
Your Sink drain is stopped up or your Garbage disposal is clogged.
usually, dishwasher drain is connected to the Garbage Disposal, but if the dishwasher empties the water into the Garbage disposal, if its clogged then water will come out of the sink. Same if sink is clogged between sink and sewer.

If you fill up your sink and then water drains away, then you know your sink itself is not the problem. If its only the Garbage disposal side that does not drain, its the garbage disposal that is clogged.

I have a 2004-05 Bosch dishwasher SHU43C. The motor is running, but it is not pumping water. Is there a belt in this? What do I need to look at to check out this problem?

I just paid $200 because I had the same problem and couldn't figure out what the issue was. My problem was the water in the bottom of the dishwasher couldn't be pumped out completely because the disharge line was clogged (only a little) from food that backflowed into it from my sink. The repair man cleared that out and now it works like new. The ultimate issue is that I have a garbage disposal and the dishwasher discharge line goes directly into the pipe above the garbage disposal, so if food/water is in the sink, it can flow back towards the dishwasher. I have since taped the discharge line to the top of the sink to minimize the chance for food to flow back towards the dishwasher.

What is wrong with my garbage disposal is blowing water the wrong water upward instead of sucking the water down

That would happen if the water going down by gravity gets blocked or partially blocked.   If you have older galvanized drain pipes rust and a gelatin type or clay type deposit will eventually block most of the pipe of any horizontal drain pipe.  Hair, food particles, or perhaps tree roots farther down the line will slow down water flow so that the waste water would back up the sink.

Once my dishwasher completed the cycle there is no water but after two or three days the bottom of the dishwasher fills with the dirty water. what could be the reason? I have garbage disposal and one pipe...

You must have your dishwasher connected directly to the garbage disposal and not through an air gap. What is happening is when you disposal fills with water it is siphoning through the drain hose back to the dishwasher. If you sink has a spare hole on the deck install air gap and run dishwasher drain through air gap first. Otherwise make sure you run Garbage disposal often so that water does not get slowed and build up inside.

Water from dishwasher flows into sink and not into garbage disposal ???

there is a clog between your garbage disposal and the vent (the part water is coming out of) .most likely the clog is where it goes into your garbage disposal

How do you clean out a clogged drain hose from the garbage disposal to the dishwasher?

You may have to pull the dishwasher out and remove the clamp on the hose from the pump. run a snake or a coat hanger or anything else that you be long, flexible but stiff enough to move through the drain. You might be able to go from the disposal side back to the drain. This would be easier if you can. If you run water down the disposal side does it back up into the sink? If it does, then the clog is down below the disposal and not the dishwasher side.

thats sure can be the problem, especially since you had 2 machines with the same problem??? whats the chances of that.?? check your installation of drain hose. correctly done the hose MUST wrap up and back down the side of d/w created what is called HIGH LOOP(prevents siplhoning of water out and would help with debris flowing back through. make sure your cleanig the disposer frequently sounds like your backing up into d/w for sure
