Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

2 Answers

I can print word processing documents and off the web, but I can no longer print databases. I have several small databases, which I could once print in Landscape. Now I get an instant "out of memory" message when I hit the print command. What can I do to resolve this? Thank you. Rosalyn Mandel

The problem isn't your printer. The problem is with your Microsoft Works software. I know of six solutions that may work.

1) Download the latest service pack for .NET Framework 1.1. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A8F5654F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en

2) Go to this website and download the update. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=65f5b806-e6a1-4f92-a656-e56eeda67e3d&displaylang=en

3) Uninstall printer completely (again). Unplug the printer from the computer. Reboot computer. Download the lastest driver from HP website. When installing the driver software, choose (type)a different directory,( ie. C:\MYHP\HP4180\ ). Plug Printer back to computer.

4) Go to this website. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841220

5) Click START, click RUN, type SPOOL. Double click printer folder, clear (delete) any files in this folder.

6) Download the latest version of Microsoft Works 9.0.

Let me know if this works

How do i make my print larger onmy kodak esp3.2

I depends upon what you are printing from. For example, if you are printing from a web page, sometimes there is a selection available on the web site to increase the size.

If the problem is the size that is printing out, I usually do a "cut and paste" of the text from the web page and then paste it onto a blank document page. You can then change the font and/or size of the text.

One other suggestions is in the "printer" settings, select the choice for "no borders" or "no margins" and that will allow the text to expand slightly.

When I receive an email with an attachment (Word or Excel) and try to print the attachment, it goes through a spooling process and just sits. I have not figured out how or what process I need to print...

The spooling process is a natural part of printing files. Usually, if you are sending a number of files to a printer, or, if the file size is large, the spooling time will take longer. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable, unless, you reduce the size of the file(s) first.

The "spooling" process is the transmitting of information to the printer. When there is a lot of information to be sent, the time it takes to print will be longer.

Hope this helps. :)

Every time the printer is on, it prints a test paper. Additionally, the colour prints are distorted and the colours are different from what I see on the screen. What is the problem?

This issue might occur if the alignment process is incomplete. Once the aligment process is completed the print quality will be improved.

Please perform the steps provided in the following HP web link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01336348&cc=uk&lc=en&dlc=en&product=428800

Now verify the result.

If you want to edit text, use the type tool to highlight the text. This makes the text active unless you have Rasterized the text. Once Rasterized it is no longer editable.
To delete photos or text on layers, you can drag the layer to the small trash can at the bottom of the layers pallet.

Document locked in que

Solution #1 Have you tried to power off the computer itself? The document is most likely locked in the PC not the printer. Unplug the printer's power, power down the computer, wait a minute or so then restart the computer. Once the machine has loaded check the print queue to verify the document is no longer there, if so you can plug the printer back in and the issue should be resolved.

Solution #2
From the Start menu, select Control Panel. Then follow this path:
Administrative Tools > Services > Print Spooler
Once at the Print Spooler, right click on it. Select Stop. Leave this window open. Turn off your printer.
At the open Print Spooler window, right click on the Print Spooler, and select Start.
Go to the Start menu, and select Printers & Faxes. Find the printer you are having problems with and double click on it. From the menu, select Printer, then select Cancel All Documents. The documents should clear.
Turn on your printer. You sould now be able to print.
