When tv has a blue or red or yellow circle in middle of screen and it is very faint looking in most cases it is the light engine.
The cost is 650,00 plus labor. In some cases it could be the color wheel. but rear .
The lamp is not the problem

Hitachi rear projection LCD with yellow blobs on screen

I have the same tv and the same problem, but my yellow is a cloud around the outside of the screen. My tv was recently moved, and a repair shop told me that sometimes in a move these tvs light engine takes a shock and causes a yellow "band" on the screen. I am hearing that these light engines are not cheap either. Hope this helps you.

I have a hitachi-ultravision digital tv and there is several areas of blue on the screen edges and also a blue area in middle of the screen..

I hate to tell you this but what is called a filter 'Analyzer or Polarizer that is positioned before the Blue's LCD panel is going bad or has a great amount of dust build up on it.
A Good TV Service with experience on these types of LCD TV's should be able to tell you what the cost of repair is.
Blessing,
A/V Media Guy

Hitachi TV 43FDX10B has yellow line with blue curve line above it

It sounds like your convergence ic's are messing up

They have a kit for this tv it is available through local parts distributors
If you can't find it locally just Google HITACHI CONVERGENCE KIT

If you are not good with de-soldering and soldering do not attempt this repair. Remember to replace all the resistors in the kit

If you are not sure about doing this repair you should have your local tv guy do it for you

Blue haze spot-yellow tint

I have the same problem with blue haze that just spread out on model 55VS69A ,
tv is almost 2 years old. i called hitachi and they advised to call a local repair center to check the tv...they confirmed Optical Block (light engine ) replacement light engine cost $1400 and labour $400, so i called back hitachi and they said they will provide light engine and will have to pay labour!....this is not right paying out of pocket for a tv less than 2 years old....I am not sure if the issue will resurface again...more likely ....Hitachi is supposed to issue a recall or atleast like sony did to cover all cost for there defective TV's....I will NEVER buy hitach again.

Hitach SUCKS.

Hitachi 50v710 Yellow spot

I found out that Hitachi has a class action law suit against them for the light engine problem. I called them and asked what they were going to do for my tv which is out of warrenty. The reply was that they would pay for new light engine. I said what about labor. No they would not pay for labor. I asked to speak to supervisor. I was told by supervisor that the tv had to be inspected by certified repair person. Cost for this was $125 but would be applied towards the total labor cost. Repair guy came to house walked in and said he did not even have to turn tv on to know the problem. We called Hitachi to set up shipment of part. Hitachi told me at that point that they would cover all labor costs also. Part has been installed this week and tv is like brand new set.

Hitachi Television Yellowing on the screen

Suggest you call Hitachi and complain. There is an issue with all projection LCD tvs (not just Hitachi) was that the light engine assembly did not have enough vents for cooling. This translates in a green or yellow blob that starts small and grows larger because the LCD screen frame starts to deform with the heat. Guess they did not test with young kids in the house and the tv on more than it is off :-). In March I managed to get Hitachi to pay for the part and I paid for the labor to get this fixed (out of warranty). The new light engine supposedly is better at cooling though I do see a faint 1/4 inch band of green at the bottom of the screen. Blackburn Electronics in Anderson IN has fixed many of these in the Indianapolis area.

Hitachi 60 in. 60V715 Yellow Haze

I would first check and see if any software updates are out on this set, you can call Hitachi, if not that then it could be the engine assemble having problems.

Hitachi 50V710 Yellow screen

I contacted Hitachi (800-448-2244) on 02-18-09 and spoke with customer service rep. name Joyce. I explained the yellow in the middle of the screen and told here a Tech came out and said that the problem was the light engine not the light unit. She immediately said that she would send a brand new Light Engine to the repair company that diagonsed the problem. She said I would have to pay for labor. The light engine is a $1000+ part and the repair company said labor would be $300 dollars. The key is you have to say that a tech looked at it and diagonsed it as the light engine and not the light unit. Find a repair company in your area and let the customer service rep. know that they looked at it about a month ago and you can't find the paperwork. The customer service rep will then recommend a company in your area to come and look at the TV. The tech company will probably charge a tech fee $100+ dollars, and about $300 for labor, all total $400 for parts and labor is not bad when the Light Engine itself is a $1000+ part. Hope this helps.
