Question about Samsung HLP4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV

TV starts then shuts off

I start the TV and it may or may not show a picture,or sound. Then it shuts off and the lights start blinking on the center button. I assume that it is the Lamp. I had the color wheel replaced a couple of months ago it had shattered. I am having a problem checking numbers. The model is HLP4663W but the SVC Mod. is HLP4663WX/XAA which I can not find a Bulb for. The Lamp Code is BP96-00826A(P) I can find nothing with the (P). I have also found answers that say it may be a power problem, Timer switch or cooling problem as well as others. Can you tell me what is the most likely problem, and what lamp /w enclosure I need. Or if I can change the bulb itself.

    I guess that Maanita did not read the entire text stating my problem. The set was unplugged for over two hours. Re-plugged in and started. the lamp light blinked and the sound came on but the set shut off again as it has been doing. How, am I to check the bulb? The P in the part number referes to it being a phillips lamp . You can buy just the bulb and then install your replacement bulb into your light housing. You will be safe ordering just the bulb part number without the P. if you need further help please let me know or you can email me direct at slinteriors@yahoo.com

Well one thing you can try first is removing the lamps and cleaning the connections and reinstalling them and seeing if it starts to work again to calm your worries about the lamp. If it starts to work, great, if not then I would first check the power supply since it sounds like it went into protection mode.

If you count the number of blinks that may help determine the exact problem.

Since it shows a picture and sound only sometimes, this would further suggest a power failure in the system and you will have to check the power supply.

    I'm sorry that I can't be more exact on the problem for what to check, but be careful when opening it because of the capacitors that hold a large amount of energy in them (the cylinder looking things on the board)

    If anything smells burnt, check those items first, check all fuses and everything that is part of the relay, you may even have a loose connection. Let me know how this goes and I will be happy to provide answers to any questions that you still may have

the only way is by bringing to a tech.i think there is no need fro self-fixing with problems like this.try tapping the tv several times then turn it on.

sounds like a problem in the stand by power supply as the Set is not blinking any code indicating its in protective shut down. I would assume its one of the low voltage regulators that has shorted. You would need a service manual to actually troubleshoot the start up and stanby voltages. Let me know if you would like a link where to purchase the manual. I will post a link that provide free tech assistance to help diagnose and repair your set when you get a manual.

Toshiba 62hm14 TV turns on with no picture but has sound then green light blinks and it shuts off


This isn't gonna help you, but I have the same problem on my 62HM15A, think we have about the same tv, widescreen DLP,?

My TV does the same thing powers with a blining lite then powers off. First it powered on with sound no pic, then would shut down and power up again with pic and sound , now i gots a nothing just powering on and off until i shut the thing off manually.
