Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Hi, my dryer will not shut off anymore. It keeps on beeping, have to open the door to make it stop. But on the Perm/Press/normal cycle it will shut off by itself. When you set the Cycle Selector control it also starts up without pushing the on button. We ordered a rebuild Cycle Selector Control part, it did the same thing so they send us a 2nd one, but it does the same thing. HELP Thank you, Tom

I have an LG DLW1101W dryer. It will not turn off unless you open the door or unplug the unit. It is running through the drying cycles fine and the close come out dry. It just will not shut off.

My b issue is the door trigger. Before you go to crazy, keep the door open and press the ltrigger latch for the door. If you're lucky it will stop the cycle.

Dryer will not shut down during permanent press cycle

bad timer at the perm press point? timers have points in them like the older cars used to have in the distributors, my point is them sometimes burn out at certain parts of the cycle and tend to stick at that point when reached, I' rebuilt a few timers it can be done but its a headache somewhat, but I saved almost 200 bucks well worth it, by the way a lot of lint is bad clean it out, but it will not keep dryer running in fact it will burn out thermal shutoff and shut down dryer. there is also a slight chance the cycling thermostat or hi-lo thermostat is bad, one cycles the heat and when it gets to hot it shuts it down but if it is stuck it can keep the machine on continually. but its a rarity AND LAST BUT NOT LEASTLY u may have a bad control board?

Error code of three beeps on a whirlpool dryer model 68972981

Hi troy crawford,

Well if it beeps for 3 times and then shut off when you press start it means that the dryer thinks that dryer door is open. You will have to replace your door switch to fix the problem. or you can also try closing the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. many time it will works...

Good Luck

Cycle Signal keeps beeping loud-soft every 15 seconds while dryin

Hi Celine, I just experienced the same exact problem. I came here looking for a solution. I got mine to stop by holding down the cycle signal button for 3 seconds, releasing it for three seconds, and repeating until both lights (loud and soft) went off. Hope it helps.

Dryer runs but wont auto shut off

On auto dry cycles, the cycle is controlled by moisture sensing bars located on either the rear or front bulkhead, ( visible inside dryer ) if the moisture sensor bars are shorted together (normally by wet clothing) the dryer will continue to run. If the dryer continues to run when the clothes are plenty dry, check and see if there is anything stuck between the sensor bars, (sometimes a metal sequin will cause this) or see if they are damaged. If not, you may have a problem with a timer contact, if the timer advances and stops moving at the same spot each time, I would suspect the timer. If this is an EvenHeat dryer, examine the control board located to the right of the timer in the control panel, for any burned components. Hope this helps.
