Yes. There are multiple adapters made to fit this application. Your local walmart most likely will have them. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-5-High-Pressure-Propane-Hose-and-Adapter/19897422

A complete new valve assembly isn't very expensive and you can often get one on eBay with a new generator included. It's not worth servicing the old valve given the safety implications of leaking fuel.

Colman stove won't light

Here's the way these oldies work:
1. Make sure you've got fresh Coleman fuel or equivalent in the tank.
2. Make sure the cap is tight on the tank.
3. Unscrew the pump knob counterclockwise about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn.
4. With your thumb covering the hole on the pump, pump the tank about 15-20 times, then screw the pump handle tight clockwise.
Then you can turn the little lever knob to the light position (I believe it is in the up position) and then crack the fuel knob open a bit and attempt a light of the burner with a lit match. As it warms up you can turn the lever to the opposite position to obtain a good flame...
Best to try this before you leave for your trip...

What would cause a high yellow flame on a 2 burner duel fuel stove after it has been on for a while? Could wind cause this or maybe a bad generator?

The pressure drops and so you have to pump it up a little every now and then. What I do is pump it up a hair. Reset the flames to a pretty blue. Yellow flame is too much fuel to air ratio. An air shutter adjustment is needed. Also dust in the burner can cause the secondary air to have an improper mix

My coleman 424 stove has been sitting in shed for a coulpe of years, now got it out again. Filled with petrol when pumped up I can light it but flame only lasts a few minutes then it dies as if no...

My best answer is that your pump seals have dried out and are allowing pumped up pressure to leak back past the pump seal
Try this: DO NOT LIGHT THE STOVE
Pump it up hard then quickly attach a small balloon with a rubber band around the base of the pump - where it contacts the tank. A deflated balloon or a small plastic baggie - does the balloon begin to fill with air after a few minutes - if yes then your seal is leaking.
You might try taking the pump apart and soaking the seal overnight in fuel reinstall and see if it cores your problem
Good Luck

Coleman 424 Dual Fuel -- High, yellow flame

Are you pumping the tank up all the way? I have the same problem if I have too little pressure in the tank. The instructions say pump 35 times. Try pumping 50 or 60 times- that seems to help.

Also, you can't light this one like an old 425. My old stove you could turn the gas on and then take a match neat the burner. For this stove, hold the match near the burner with the gas off and quickly turn it on.

These are two things that seemed to help me with the same problem.

How to operate a coleman two burner stove using liquid fuel

If you are talking about the old type that runs on Coleman fuel, start by putting some oil in the hole beside the pump knob to make sure that the gasket is lubricated. Fill with fuel and pump it up, keeping your thumb over the hole in the end of the pump knob. When you have pumped up enough pressure, turn on and light the main burner, then secondary burner if necessary.

There is water in your fuel. Drain the tank and flush it out with denatured alcohol. Refill with fresh fuel.
