Tuner cost What does it cost to replace the tuner or is it better to throw the TV out & buy a new one?

The dam main board the tv Tuner signal board was dying and now it is dead.Tv now still have power light LED indication it is on just no picture wright?Yes.This tv the Tuner signal board is it dead.Can u do some basic mechanical work like take thing aparts and putting it back together again?Yes,tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.Or the shops will cost u a little more than half of a new tv to service by them,because this tv,the main board it is dead,not serviceable only replaced that it.

There's some shop that expertised in tv tuner repair. But this shop is very hard to find and sometimes the cost will be the same like the original price of it. Buy and replaced it with a new HDMI cable to the DVD player for better function.Tries unplug the tv about an hour,replug it back in.Goto tv menu,goto PICTURE.Go down to reset the Tuner board back to Facrory setting.The tv should have signal now.Not than the tv Tuner board have problems,must be change,tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.

There no sound card in LCD tvs,only a Tuner board to get air brocast signal that included sound.Tries to reset ur tv by unplug,replug the tv about an hour later.Go to the tv menu go to PICTURE down to reset.Now the Tuner board is reset to factory setting it should fix ur sound problems.Not than buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.

The better solution is to use the video audio inputs (if on satellite or cable box) or use the video inputs by changing channels through the VCR (if on cable or antenna and a VCR is available)

Not to my knowledge there isn't. Sorry maybe you can apply for the discount DTV card to buy the settop converter while there is still time. Go to www.DTV.org it takes a while to get the discount cards so act fast.

NO! he is not right. He wants to make a sale! Go to ptscorp.com, get the telephone number and tell them the numbers off the sides of the tuner. Or give them the model number. If they do not have a tuner(and I am sure they will, ask them how much it would be, if you sent them the tuner in your set to be overhauled. Good Luck
