Locate your heating coil...
Remove the two wires from the terminals of the heating element.
Using an Ohm Meter set it to check for continuity accross the two terminals.
If you Ohm Meter buzzes or shows continuity across the terminals then the coil heater is good.

Kenmore dryer won't dry

If you are not getting any heat at all then I would suggest looking at your thermostats, as one of them may have gone bad and that could have cut power to the heating element. If you do have some heat but things still do not dry well, check your exhaust duct to make sure that it is clear of any obstruction. Also make sure that it is not crimped if you have a flex duct on your dryer.

Electric dryer tumbles but does not dry clothes on any setting. dryer is only 4 yrs old.

Heating element has gone bad. You need to unplug unit. remove back, then find heating element and remove it. Look for what looks like broken springs, if found replace element. 99% of electric dryers not drying are the heating element. Cost around $50

Won't heat up and doesn't shut off

You likely need to replace the element. test the dryer in auto and timed dry cycles. If the element is gone you will have no heat in either.
If the humidity sensor is shot or the dryer vent hose is clogged , the dryer will run forever and not dry or shut off.
Check for blockage first. then run a test cycles on both settings and post back

Heating element gone in our kenmore dryer

Hi, Without having a model # so I can see the exact dry style you have, This is how to get to the most popular style element. UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the element on the right hand side. Plug the dryer back in and test to see if there is 240V going to the element posts. If there is voltage, but no heat, change the element. If it does not, you need to test the thermostats for continuity. If any of the thermostats are open, replace it. I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Dryer is not heating up, it is blowing out cool air

IT IS YOUR HEATING ELEMENT THAT IS GONE IN YOUR DRYER. THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WHAT WORKS TO GET YOUR CLOTHES DRY. CALL YOUR LOCAL REPAIRMAN OR THE STORE YOU BOUGHT IT FROM AND SEE HOW MUCH A NEW HEATING ELEMENT WOULD COST YA.

Dryer leaking water

it sounds to me like the heating element that heats up to dry the clothes has gone faulty or tripped out. Cant really tell from here.. when you open the drier is there a good level of heat ? If not, its the heating element section at fault.

Kenmore Elite Heavy Duty King Size Capacity Quiet Pack II Dryer shuts off

If the venting is clogged this will happen. And that is a good thing because it is a safety measure built in to prevent fires. There is a thermostat that can tell when your dryer is over-heating,(usually caused by clogged venting by lint) and this devise tells the heating element to turn off so as not to create a fire. Clean out venting, inspect thermostats and element, replace if neccesary. You may only have to clean out the venting.
