Also check the skimmer basket and pump. Make sure they are functioning properly. Check all hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could be causing a lack of water pressure in these pool cleaners. Make sure that your wheel RPM is between 28 and 32. Increase the pressure to create more RPM.

Pool motor problem

If your pump is not moving water you first want to check the skimmer and pump baskets and make sure they are empty as not to restrict water flow. Next make sure your pool filter is clean. Once you have checked these, you may want to check the pump impeller. This is the part in the pump that is connected to the motor that moves the water. Impellers will clog from time to time, especially during the springtime. To inspect the impeller, you will need to open the pump, to see inside of the impeller housing or volute.

I hooked up a new Polaris 280 pool cleaner to replace my Arneson Navigator and it doesn't move.

I would first take it out of the water and check for proper wheel RPM. If it is less than 28 RPM or you are getting no movement at all, it is going to be a problem with the power source. It is likely going to be that your booster pump is missing, malfunctioning, or is not installed properly on the pool cleaner. There are a few other things to check. Clean the skimmer, filter and pump basket, clearing any debris that restricts water flow. Check the hoses, connections and swivels for leaks. Try removing the blue restrictor disk from the UWF or if an adjustable gate valve is installed on the booster pump or cleaner line, open it completely so water can flow freely.

Polaris won't move and seems to be nose down. The tail is moving but thats it. also when i bring the tail out of the water, it doesn;t have much water pressure shooting out.

Check the pool cleaners filter screen in the in-line filter and clean, if necessary.Clean the skimmer basket, pump basket, and pool filter. If one of these is full or clogged, it could be weighing part of the cleaner down. Check all of the hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could cause loss of
water pressure. Finally, make sure that your wheel RPM is set correctly (between 28-30 RPM)

No suction on my baracuda pool cleaner

There are several things that you will want to try if you are not getting adequate suction on these pool cleaners. First and foremost, make sure that you are getting proper water flow to the cleaner. If you are not, the cleaner will not move until the water flow is increased. Clean your baskets and your filter and make sure that they are clear of debris and blockages. Also, make sure that you do not have any leaks in your hoses and connections. Any leakage of air will cause the cleaner not to move correctly.

The wheels on my Polaris 3900 don't move. Plenty of water coming thru the thrust and the tail wags. When I move the wheels manually they all move together.

There are a couple things that you should check with these pool cleaners if the wheels are functioning properly. Check the filter screen in the in-line filter assembly and clean if necessary.Make sure that you do not have any debris or obstructions that could be halting wheel function. Even though you seem to have plenty of water, check the RPM and make sure they are between 28 and 32.

My Polaris isn't suckiong up anything, his tail is hardly moving. What should I do?

There are a a few things that you will want to check. These are common issues with these pool cleaners that are easily resolved.

  1. Check the filter screen and make sure that it is clear of debris.
  2. Clean the skimmer basket, pump, and pool filter.
  3. Check all swivels, hoses, and connections to make sure that you don't have a leak somewhere that is causing a loss of suction.
  4. Make sure that your wheel RPM is between 28 and 32. If it is lower, you might need to adjust water flow to create higher RPM.

My pool cleaner doesnt move when switched on

First, check the filter screen and in line filter to be sure that they are not clogged. If they are, cleaning them will probably remedy the problem. Next, make sure the skimmer basket, pump basket, and pool filter are not blocked/clogged. With these automatic pool cleaners, that is most often the problem, surprisingly enough. Check all of your hoses, connections, and swivel for leaks that could cause a lack of water pressure. Finally, make sure that your wheel RPM is functioning properly and is at the recommended number of rpms.
