Question about Kenwood KAC-6104D D Class Mono Power Amplifier
When you hooked up your amp, did you hook it directly to the head unit so that it didn't come on with the car? Did you find the inline fuse in the amp positive cable? Few things to check..

SOURCE: fan stays on, light turns off
try using a better ground. while new cars are great, they also have more paint and plastic in the works...so finding a good ground for your amp to run off of isnt always easy. you can try running a gbround cable straight to the negative terminal of your battery to test the amp, poor grounding is the most comon cause of amp failure. ps,the fan may be staying on as a protective service, as if your amp loses ground whenpowered up it will keep the cicuit boardfrom heating up on voltage surges.

SOURCE: LIGHTS ON BUT NO BASS
Is the master/slave switch set to master? Have you tried feeding the signal into a different amp to make sure that there is signal reaching the amp?

SOURCE: Car Audio (amp over heating)
by chance is the sub a dual voice coil sub if so you can change the inpedance going to the amp.also if you don't have at lest 4gauge wire for power+ground you ground wire is as important or more than your power wire it is a somtimes a common over sight make sure the ground is as short as possible and in good contact with the vehicle frame

If the sub isn't working, you won't get a pop. All you need is a small speaker. Don't need a sub, you just want to test the sound. I recently blew 2 subs, no smoke, no smell, no sign of being blown. Absolutely nothing from the subs.... In the past my sub locked up. You can take your sub out of the box and hook the + and - to the battery to see if you can get the sub to pop there. I believe a small box will push a sub into a deep excursion to the center of the cone. I have 2 lanzar VW12D's that just quit. I hooked a 6 x 9 up to my amp and low and behold I had sound! Try that and see what you get...

Check to see if your deck has a sub on/off option in the menu or settings if it don't you may have blown amp chanells or bad RCA preouts on deck or bad RCA in on amp

Testimonial: "You are correct it seems to me that it has something to do with the RCA inputs on the amp or it also could be blown amp channels, the amp is bad. "
