Setting Time

I am unable to set the time/alarm on this "Dual Alarm Clock". Can somebody PLEEEEZ help me?

alarm 1 does not show a display of any type; alarm 2 works/displays as manual says it will. I have had the clock for many years and it worked well until 2 years ago. I am spoiled by the clocks' features and the manufacturers name EMERSON. I am 64yrs, disabled, a widow on a fixed income paid $12.95 at WalMart, and I can not find another one to replace it. Living in WY limits my shopping choices. Is there some way I can fix the one I have at a reasonable price?
