your account might need to be re activated ?

You may notice occasionally that your MSN or Hotmail/Windows Live account has been locked by Microsoft. Due to this, you are unable to login to your email account. You may not even access your Windows Live Messenger. This typically occurs when your account was compromised. Someone may have hacked into your account or stolen your password. Windows Live offers a systematic process to recover and unlock your account. You will need an alternate email address to perform this task.

Navigate to Windows LiveID Account Recovery help page. Read the instructions and click "Continue" twice. Type an alternative email address in the box under Contact Email Address. Click "Continue." Log in to your alternate email account. Open the email from "Windows Live." Click the link provided to you in the email. This will take you to the password recovery process. Type a new password and retype it to confirm. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset. Try to log in to your MSN account using any of the MSN products, including Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger. You will be able to access your MSN account.

Can't log in to msn.com

When you log in to MSN a website powered by Microsoft you also log in to its Hotmail and Messenger programs.

Hotmail is MSN's email program, while Messenger is an instant messaging and networking program.

Because Messenger and Hotmail are connected to MSN, if you have problems logging into one program, you'll likely have issues logging in to all of them.

Register for Account

The first step to logging in to any MSN-powered sites is to have a Windows Live ID.

This includes an email address, which acts as your username, as well as a password.

The email address must end in either "@hotmail.com," "@live.com" or "@msn.com."

Even though these emails use different domain names, all can be accessed by logging in to the Hotmail homepage.

If you try to log in to MSN or any of its partner sites like Hotmail or Messenger using anything but a Windows Live ID, you won't be allowed to access or create a profile and will be prompted to create a Windows Live account.

Incorrect Password

The most likely reason you aren't able to sign in to your MSN accounts is user error.

Entering an incorrect email address or password will return an error message, informing you that either the email address you provided isn't registered with MSN, or that you entered an incorrect password.

MSN and, hence, Hotmail and Messenger passwords are case sensitive, so check your keyboard's settings before retyping your password a second time.

If you don't remember your password but know your Windows Live ID, you can opt to reset your password by answering some security questions pertaining to your account.

Browser Issues

A slow browser can impact your ability to log in to your MSN accounts.

Try deleting your browser's cookies and clearing its cache before attempting to sign in again. This process varies from browser to browser.

For example, in Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon, "Internet Options" and click "Delete" under Browsing History.

Check the "Cookies" box and click "Delete."

Internet Issues

A slow Internet connection can also hinder your login attempts.

Check your Internet connection to make sure you're connected to the Internet.

Also, check that you're working online instead of offline, which can prevent you from logging in.

Click on the "File" tab at the top of your browser, and make sure there's not a check mark next to the words "Work Offline."

If there is, click on the words to uncheck that option and sign in again.

There might be some interference from another browser

Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or
click start control panel internet options you will see a home page box To Create Page Tabs type

each adress on its own line (type in MSN.com) or you preferred home page and browser
below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search providers you have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them.

Hope this helps.

Msn live

Remove all older versions of Windows Live Services (if you have previously installed or attempted to install any Windows Live Services). Clear the entries your computer by following the steps below.
Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl and then click OK.
In the list of currently installed programs, select any Windows Live (you may see more than one program with the Windows Live name) and then click Change / Remove.
If you are prompted to confirm, click Yes.
Do this until all Windows Live programs (except Windows Live OneCare if you have it installed) are uninstalled.
Restart your computer. This is important.
Once you have all the above dependencies installed, then download and install the appropriate software from the links below based on your language requirements. To perform this installation, follow these steps:

I have Logitech and a 3 year old Dell. My sister has a Mac with the webcam already installed and it is new. She and I are not able to connect. It says we are both offline when we are both on. My daughter...

Ok, I would try downloading MSN Messenger Live and use the webcam feature there, Consider Microsoft makes msn, it would be a great free product to use to keep in contact with others and it has more free features. I find it easy too use and others that dont know too much about computers find it easy too. If you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask again. I hope this helped.

I have forgotten my msn password and despite trying all the obvious answers i can't find the right answer to my secret question. I have another msn email account under the same name so i can verify that...

You have 2 options here:

1. If you supplied an alternate email address, select that instead of providing answers to questions on the forgot your password link. This will email a password reset email to that email address.

2. Contact MSN and see what you guys can do. They will have you verify information. Go to this link:

https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productKey=wlid&ct=eformts&scrx=1

to report a problem.

When i am on msn and want to put on webcam a message appears in a conversation saying Messenger is not available right now. Please try again later. (0x8ac70202)

This might be a compatibility problem between your webcam drivers with the new Windows Live Messenger program. You may want to:

1. Update your webcam drivers and see if Windows Live Messenger can detect it when you run the Audio Video setup from its Tools menu.

2. Or you can downgrade back to the older version of Windows Live Messenger which is compatible for your camera. Doing this however also requires that you uninstall all the Windows Live Beta products from your computer.

Note: You will not see a separate Windows Live Messenger on your Add/Remove programs, instead you will either see there Windows Live Beta products or Windows Live Essentials.

You can download the older versions of Windows Live Messenger from:

why u did that, contain msn files. if u didnt because of some problem in msn then dont do it. may be the files have some fault.
install a fresh copy of msn dont use that added files check the msn only, first. if ok then try with that files. if creates the same problem, then its clear that u have to use that without that files. files conatins error.

I cannot acces my hotmail account, msn messenger and my windows update is not working.

try downloading dial-a-fix for your windows update problem. you can read about it and down load it from here - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Dial-a-fix.shtml - it will do wonders for you - as far as your hotmail and msn messenger goes - as long as you are inputting the correct username and password then you should be able to access both. - try downloading windows live mail which you can find here - http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview - during the install of that tell it to install windows live messenger as well - you can check your hotmail right from your desktop and this will also give you the most up-to-date software for working with.both your hotmail and messenger from your desktop. hope this has helped you.
