Had a joint left over from party can i freeze it

Anything can be preserved by freezing but not everything is suitable for freezing because either the consistency of the food is destroyed or drastically changed by the freezing/thawing process or because the thawed food will not tolerate the thorough reheating that will be required to make it safe to eat.

Cooked, chilled foods that are perfectly fresh can be frozen and eaten after thawing with a fair degree of safety and such things as strawberries can be frozen even though they become a sort pulp after thawing.

Personally, I don't eat much from the freezer that hasn't been thoroughly heated/cooked right through...

GE profile side by side fridge freezing and thawing randomly

Defrost entire unit, put food in coolers with ice and unplug. Wait 24 hours with doors open. Any clogs in freon lines should be gone, plug unit back in and see how it works.

Items in refrigerator are freezing

The temp control in the fridge actually moves the flap the opens and closes in the venting between fridge and freezer. This vent can get stuck or frozen in one direction. A good thawing out which is recommend once a year for any unit is not a bad idea.

Thawing of this vent and flap are a good idea. Once it is thawed out or unstuck, then move the temp control around to see if the flap will move. Then you can turn it down so freezer is colder and fridge is not freezing up.

Condenser freezes up and the fridge gets warm, I thaw out the condenser and its works great for a couple of weeks. the unit is a amana bottom freezer ARB1917C. thank you

It's the evaporator that's freezing up from failure of an item in the defrost system. You'll find you have a bad timer, heater or thermostat. The timer is located in the control panel, centered towards the rear. Turn it cockwise with a flat blade screwdriver. A tick will be heard for each advance of the timer. Continue until a loder click is heard and the fan and compressor go off. After approximately 10 minutes, listen in the freezer for sizzling and crackling sounds of water hitting a hot heater element. You must wait about 6 hors since you last thawed out the coils to be sure the thermostat has closed. If the heater is on, and the coils thaw out......replace the timer. If not, the problem is with the heater or thermostat.

GE Freezer Not Freezing

I am not an expert, but if the defrost heater is not working, then maybe when it was unpluged the coils didn't completly unthaw. If not, the freezer still will not cool properly.

Ge profile refrigerator

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.
  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

Freezing water line

Yes this freezer is built by woods corp. They had a myriad of drain icing problems. There is a kit to resolve this although sometimes it doesnt always work make sure that the plastic liner in the drain trough isnt cracked or it will let water in the liner, icing the drain. Seal any cracks with epoxy. Try running a piece of 14 guage copper wire strand (no insulation) from def heater and extend into drain hole. This will help it drain. All this is axcessed though back cover in freezer.
