You ether have an internal by-pass or an external one. If you have an external one you need to close it up to 80-90 persent. This will allow some water to go past the heater but most will go through it. If it is open too much the water will offer enough pressure to start the heater but if it doesn't flow through it. It will boil the water inside it and gurgeling and pounding as the water expands. If you have a problem with your internal by-pass you will get the same result but it is harder to fix. This is a disc mounted on a shaft held closed by a spring inside your water manifold on the heater. If you open the header you can get access to the by-pass and may be able to sand the shaft down or if the disc is broken you can replace it. Hope this helps and good luck.

hi. i have mini temp boiler 150 btu 5yers old . it is burning with know radiation .it is up to thempitio .but it will not shut off.flame is good radietor is hot ,help?
