If the machine is brand new, it's under warranty. Contacting HP should be your first move.

Sales pop-up on computer

Is it a legit from HP? if not try this;

Seems to me a virus or malware to me. Back up your important files first, your installation keys, and drivers. If you have all your installation disk the better. Coz if its a virus it would damage your system. But this is is cause by the virus.

Try installing malwarebytes antimalware. Install, update then scan. Or install antivirus like Avira Free. also Install, update then scan.

Hope this one helps it.

My new hp w2207h monitor, pop up keep telling me to install driver. when i install driver a error message comes up.what should i do.

Go to - CONTROL PANEL - DEVICE MANAGER then find monitors in the list, right click the desired device, then PROPERTIES this will tell you if the device is working properly. then click update drivers. If this fails check your screen resolution settings. The safest thing is to set it to default.Sometimes the graphics card isnt big enough for the monitor so try tweaking visual settings like shadows and fonts. Things like message box outlines and shadows can be turned off too speed the image up.If your using vista your probably using the default theme AERO/GLASS. Change it to a normal theme of your choice but dont use GLASS. this uses quite alot of graphics power.

All my hardware is HP. I am on my laptop (Vista). My desktop (XP)will not boot up properly after I installed a new HP Monitor & Printer (Printer works OK). The monitorgive the following message: ...

ok..sounds like an operating system mismatch...you may need to remove the software entirely, go to www.hp.com and get a fresh edition of the print manager..sometimes that file gets corrupted..

Message saying alps pointing devive has stopped working, can still move mouse pointer but cant use the scroll function

A possible fix for the Alps problem Your Alps pointer problem is probably driver related. To fix it:
1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Right click on Computer & choose properties
3. Open Device Manager (Admin password may be required)
4. Under Mice & other pointing devices, right click Alps pointing-device & choose Update driver software
5. Choose Search automatically & it will download and install the latest signed driver from the windows repositories & hopefully that will fix that problem.

Acre 5520 laptop

Hi,

Assuming already installed vista.

Just try doing flea power & the power cycle.

1. Disconnect all the peripherals like keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner & monitor and power supply from the CPU.

And press & hold the power button for 1 min, it will release the flea power from the mother board.

Restart the system & check.

2. Disconnect everything.wait for 5-10 minutes and then connect every thing & start the system.

Restart the system & check.

Is it giving any error messages.

Try booting in to safe mode.

If it does then the issue is with something.

Do you have two video adapters.

Try boot from the dvd & run the recovery for vista.

or the system restore from the dvd.

At last run repair reinstallation using the vista dvd.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck.

try to run again the system restore cd, what OS you are using? is it old or new acer laptop?
if you have new laptop with Vista OS it should be ok.
if you have new laptop design for vista but rather installed XP maybe you will encounter difficulties loading drivers if you dont have xp driver cd (acer provided)
if you have old laptop with XP OS it should be ok.
if you have old laptop w/ lower memory and trying to install Vista it will not work or you will incounter difficulties
