CreoScitex Eversmart II communication problem

Got the right software 1.00 installed successfully on an G3 with OS 8.1 Everything shows up on the SCSI. Sanner is on 6, G3 on 7. So far so good. Now I went to- install and message comes up "Motion board communication error (Type e 8)" Green power light is steady but green status light blinks. This light should be steady as well. Unlocked the 2 screws for moving thats ok. Any idea how to solve this problem. Thanks

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

The "human face" icon is an indication that your hard drive is not being recognized by your iMac G3 because the hard drive is not formatted to read the Mac OS 9 software.

What you need to do is initialize your hard drive so you can
it can read the Mac OS 9.0.4 software.

Below, I have provided a link with simple steps to properly initialize (format) your 40GB hard drive

Initializing a hard disk, cartridge, or optical disk

Follow these steps and you will be able to successfully install Mac OS 9.0.4 to your Mac G3 hard drive.

I hope this helps.

Ballasts for Creoscitex Eversmart Jazz+ Scanner

You should contact genesis equipment in AZ.
http://www.genesis-equipment.com/
I've ordered bulbs from them for my Jazz+. Kodak no longer supprots the Jazz, Jazz+, Pro, and older, so you'll have to find alternative suppliers for parts. Genesis should be able to help and can do the work for you if needed, but crating and shipping something this large wouldn't be cheap. You'd probably better off just buying a replacement at that point.

Locked Carraige

There are two locks on the scanner. One on the top right corner of the inner lid that locks the transparency assembly. The other for the bed is located on the side of the right hinge. Just turn them with a flathead screwdriver.
