Question about Cuisinart Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Our Cuisinart Pro Classic food processor suddenly started leaking yesterday as we were trying to make salsa. It starts to leak once liquid reaches the top of the white plastic top part of the cutting blade which sits down on top of the clear plastic tube in the middle of the unit. It seems that liquid is simply going up the inside of the cutting blade and down the tube coming out all over the bottom of the clear plastic unit.

We have had the unit filled with whatever we were making before and never had this problem. Is there supposed to be a gasket at the top of the blade attachment up inside?

On further searching, you are correct. We were exceeding the liquid level. I guess in the past, we were processing enough solid items that made the mixture thick enough that it would not go up the inside of the blade apparatus and down the tube. Thank you.

There are few possibilites to your issue as I will start with my logic to make a picture from your report.
1. Is there any way that you have exceeded the fluid level of the bowl.? Since the liquid is flowing from the over flow in the inside tube , I suspect that there is more fluid than required. so check this out.
2. Secondly is there by any way that the bowl jar is damaged in the tubular section? Look carefully after removing and cchecking under a bright light.
3. The blade normally works with the action down and check if the blade locks on well into the slot of the drive.
4. the top lid also must be tight so that there is no leak through the top lid covers.
5. remove jar fill up water and check for any leak. I understand that the liquid is oozing from the central tube through the gap in the blade? hence my first doubt if there is overrflow due to excess level.
please give me a feed back and I shall check up once again.
Hope my advice helps?

Microwave won't start

I have the same problem. Is the light still on inside the microwave? Mine is on and the microwave thinks the door is not shut. I took the top off of the microwave and the latch needs to push down on a switch once shut. The latch was reaching the switch, but I think some spring in the door, pushing the latches down, has broken since it reaches the switch when closed but there isn't any downward force to flip the switch.
I am trying to figure out how to repair the latch but if your light is on when you "shut" the door, you may have the same problem.

There is steam inside the microwave when my food is heating up. Is this dangerous?

If the steam is not leaking out of the microwave it is no problem. Steam is normal when you heat moist items. If it is leaking out you need to replace the door seal, but steam will not start a fire.

I have the cuisinart 14 cup food processor. I have not used it in probably 6 months and today decided to make a pie crust. Everything is ready to go and when I press ON nothing happens. I made certain...

Sometimes mating the bowl to the base does not depress the indented safety start button at the front of the base. This can happen more often if you pre-assemble the bowl and lid before mating to the base. Sometimes also the plunger rod in the bowl (that pushes the indented safety button) gets fouled with debris and does not slide nicely up and down. You may have to clean that area.
Test the safety button .... take the bowl off and take a small screwdriver to depress the button while activating the start lever. BE CAREFUL ... since the center drive cylinder will spin. If the motor turns on and drive cylinder rotates then the problem is how the bowl was mated to the base. If the motor does not turn on ... then it could be the motor/wiring/switch.

Good luck with your troubleshooting

My radiators are getting warm when my heatings not on. Any ideas??

You can check your microwave for possible LEAKS and make sure there are no FOOD particles blocking the oven's fan system To check for leaks, place a DAMP paper towel around the door seals and place a glass cup of water in the microwave. If there are leaks of microwave energy you will find DRY or WARM areas on the paper towel. BE CAREFUL not to peer or watch the test, done on level HIGH for 1 minute. Microwaves may cook the vitreous humor (liquid in eyeball,) just like it would an egg. If the towel is dry or hot ANYWHERE after the test, TOSS the microwave. Your safety is not calculated by the cost of a new oven.Let me know how this goes; I have tested many older ovens and have found quite a few leaky ones.

This just happened to ours as well. Apparently the magnetron (device that creates radio waves that heat the food) is broken. I'm trying to pry the darn thing out of our kitchen now so I can replace the magnetron. Look for this part WB27X10489 on Google. I found it on ebay for $65. If it fixes the problem I'll post again.
