Memory card not working

See if there's something blocking the metal of the memory card and use something like a flat screw driver to scratch it. If doesn't work, then it simply implies that the memory card may have spoilt

Sansa e260

The e260 works with microSD cards. Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card and won't work in the Sansa.
With a microSD card, simply put music tracks into a folder called "MUSIC". When the card is installed, the Sansa will see the additional tracks.

Memory card

Let me start out by saying you can not have two types of files on the same card. I found that out the hard way, (no mp3 with wma) on this player. And if you have downloaded one type in the one gig. then it has to be the same type on the memory card. Now there is a few ways to download;
1. through your GPX while it is pluged into computer using windows Media.
2. Using slot already in computer if your computer is built with one (mine is) then find the music you have download from CD and just transfer them or as some would say drag and drop.
3. I use Real Play because if you buy if you have the works and it allows you to transfer your music into whatever mode you wish and it will also format your card for your player. Then it allows you to make a list and download. but that is just me.
Let me know if this helps. P.S. I never download on my GPX I just use 2 gig cards. I have everything from audio books to music but I do carry 4 card wallets that hold 25 cards each. I have everything from Harry Potter 1 - 7 to Ozzy to Kenny G. to give you an Idea what it is like when you get a handle on downloading.

Download music

It is easier to get a SD memory card for it. Drag and drop the music onto the window which represents the SD memory card and then just put the SD memory card into the GPX MP3 player. I have the same MP3 player and it works nice... it was a good deal for the money! Take the savings and invest in a cheap SD memory card and you will be happy.... I was!
:-) Good Luck!
