This is a very common problem, and guessing we are talking about a domestic refrigerator, it helps to know the details, chances are your defrost heater is not working, and 90% is not the heater, is what controls it the defrost timer, your solution to test this, is defrost the refrigerator, for a few hours your are going to have water everywhere, then turn it back on, it will work for a few days. until you replace the defrost

My thermostat is set on 68 degrees and it shows room temperature is 68, but the furnace still kickson, Honeywell said it has a 1 degree difference. so what's the problem then?

Yes there is a one degree tolerance, in fact my heater just kicked on and it is set to 67 and the inside temperature reads 67. It is also a Honeywell.

Only recently my portable heller air conditioner is oosing out buckets of water each night. does it mean it finished and needs replacement,

Portable air conditioners cool the air, and in so doing, dehumidify the air. The "buckets" of water are coming from the humid air in your environment, so you need to do things that will reduce humidity, of be prepared to empty the condensate receptacle fairly often.

Using a small room, closing doors and windows to the room you want cooled, avoiding cooking or heating water, reducing the frequency of people walking into/out of the room and limiting the number of people in the room will all help in reducing, and keeping low, the ambient humidity.

Why can't I lower my honeywell 8500 below 67 on cool?

With a two story house you have to be aware that cold air flows downwards so any cold air coming from an ac unit will flow downstairs( normally down the stairway) so unless you can close off the down stairs then the up stairs unit will be cooling downstairs as well. Ac units have a thermostat located in the air intake and it cools until the cold air has risen to that point. In effect the space above the ac unit will be hotter than the floor. Knowing how they work ,you can see that the upstairs unit will never reach the set temperature because the cold air is continually heating from the house and will never get to the top thermostat.
So your solutions are
1-- fit controls that restrict the cold air from leaving the upper floor (Doors)
2--don't run the upper ac unit unless you are living up there (waste of money
)3 place an ac in each upper room and keep the room door closed

How do I remove the "Keepers" from the media of an Ultra Cool CP70? I'm meeting resistance trying to remove them & am concerned that using force will break them. I don't know if they pop off under pressure...

I used a Mac Tools UT018 blind panel removal tool for auto upholstery panel removal. similar items may be found at your local auto parts store. I slipped the tool under the round washer up against the media and simply pulled. It removes the washer without damaging the locking pin or the media so everything can be reused. Simply blow out the media panel from the inside to clean any dust or pet hair from the media. Reinstall.

Why does home central air conditioner will only cool to 80 degrees?

Because it is low on Freon. Do not run it low or the compressor wont be able to cool and you will burn it up. If it has run more than 1 hour in 90 degree heat the compressor is probably already damaged. Have a HVAC professional look at it, but if you were still using id plan for the worse, a complete replacement.
