I use a nice little program called Audio Cleaning Lab by Magix. I usually get very good results, but sometimes, and increasingly, when I create the audio CD, the encoding goes haywire. It'll start out...

Id say its a driver or a hardware issue, I recently had a similiar problem with my soundcard, the sound would get worse and worse it was like you could hear raining from the soundcard. I had to switch to 4ch and back to 2ch to get the crackling and raining out. I haven't had the problem since I got new drivers for my sound card.

Id say there is noting wrong with the program, its most likely a driver or a hardware problem, try updateing your drivers and see what happens.

Thanks,
Ekse

I was loosing control over my laptop! SO I have formatted my laptop with windows XP service pack 2 CD .. and when I logged back.. my sound drivers were missing! I have a backup file named L310_XP_audio...

Begin by visiting windows update and see if the custom update offers you any hardware drivers for your system. Then please follow the steps in this excellent tutorial to locate and install new drivers for your sound card. If your system was purchased from a major manufacturer, you will most likely be able to download the required drivers from their support site online.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

When I try to play an audio file on my computer, it says that it seems that no sound device is installed or working on my computer. What's a sound device and how can I solve this problem ?

a sound device is a dedicated board the fits in a free PCI slot(inside the PC) and produces all of the sounds once connected to a set of speakers, hifi unit, some newer PC's come with built in sound cards

not all cards are the same quality some are standard stereo and some are full theatre quality(dolby,THX etc)
so its wise to find a solution for your needs as many aspects of newer cards may never be needed

maybe you have a sound card in your system and have not yet installed drivers if you right click on my computer(on desktop) and use the properties in the menu, you will see a new box ,goto the HARDWARE tab and then the DEVICE MANAGER tab
click the + next to sound, video, gamecontrollers

if u see any mention of an audio device right clickit and select UPDATE DRIVER

but remember a sound card must be connected to speakers or a hifi unit to produce the sound

Yamaha RX V861 - Phillips DVD - No sound via digital coax

Does your TV support "Line In" or "Aux" or "External"? if so plug your "Low end" DVD directly into the back of the tv and verify that you Can get audio. Quite a few DVD players do have a mute feature. Be sure this is turned "off"...accordianman

No network adapter or soundcard, after i did a system recovery

May need to reinstall the drivers.
If the Sound and Network are built in to the Motherboard you can find out the make and model and usually get the drivers rom the board manufacturer. Have a look inside on the Motherboard for the details. If you have a disk that came with the Motherboard the drivers will probably be on that.
If they are seperate PCI cards plugged in to the Motherboard you will need to know what type they are. Drivers can usually be found on the net, but it means taking the cards out and looking on them for manufacturers name/model/chipset etc.

Dell Inpiron 1420 having Speaker Problem, I have checked Drivers, and sound card installation but didnt find any problem with all that. Appreciate if some one can guied me as how can I fix that problem.

Some PC's have 2 audio outs, one in front and one in back. Often they are switcheable, as in my Shuttle xPC. If it is a sound card, try another PCI slot. If it is integrated, do a chipset driver update from the chipset maker, like Nvidia or ATI, Intel, etc.
