YOU MIGHT CHECK THE MUFFLER AND SEE IF IT IS CLOGGED OR RESTRICTED. THIS COULD KEEP IT FROM RUNNING

I'll check the muffler but since I sent in my question I checked compression and it was 75 to 80

Leaf blower runs on half choke

My craftsman leaf blower ran great for 4 years.. It stop running on me one day while using it.. I replace the carb, muffler and fuel filter with a new one.. it still will only run when the choke is half closed and don't run good doing that.. I have also noticed oil around the plug and muffler. I have to use either to get it started and I noticed when I pour a little oil in the spark plug hole before cranking it seems to run loner but not at full throttle think it might be piston rings shot.

I have a Craftsman 32cc blower/vac model #358.797251. Replaced fuel lines and primer bulb. Getting fuel but won't start

Check for spark and air filter in good shape. Make sure bulb side gasket is OK! No leaks! Good luck!

I have replaced the spark plug and it will not start.

Hi, you can check to see if it is a fuel starvation problem by putting a few drops of fuel through the spark plug hole, replace the plug and if it fires or runs for a short period then there is a fuel blockage - try checking filter or carby jets.If the engine didn't fire then maybe check exhaust outlet for blockage (my leaf blower didnt start and it had a mud wasp nest in exhaust.

Good luck

Craftsman 2 cycle blower stalls.

Hello,

Most Probably the problem lies in the adjustment of the carburettor. There are two needles in the carb one for lowend adjustment and one for high end adjustment. Your lowend adjustment seems fine. The highend needle needs to be adjusted. Following are some very detailed procedures for adjusting these types of carbs

http://tech.flygsw.org/walbro_tuneup.htm

http://www.drystacked.com/Walbro%20Carburetor%20Theory%20ebook1.pdf

If your machine has a carb other than a "Walbro" dont worry the procedures are same. I am sure if your engine has not completed its life span this will solve your problem.

CRAFTMAN LEAF BLOWER WONT START

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

My leaf blower won't start. I've checked, fuel, cleaned filters, and carbon build up. I realised spark plug isn't firing, so I replaced it but it's still not firing.

did you make sure the new spark plug was igniting if it is or if its weak you might have broke the flywheel key was it running fine when last used there can be alot of things it could be 2 cycle engines must have 120psi of compression ,the right fuel mixture, good plug right gap between flywheel & magnito (spark plug wire connect to to get spark) and not rust on flywheel & magnito hope this helps let me know thanks

This Model 358-797251 Leaf Blower will not start. What can I do to make the engine run at the regular speed?

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
- aluminum or silver - piston/cylinder scored
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Compression - 125 to 150 psi

3) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
5) replace gaskets/diaphragms
b) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
