My elderly father's remington razor MS3 2700 does not seem to be recharging, when it is plugged in. When the "on" switch is pressed, the red light flashes and it makes a tired noise. Could the recharge battery have worn out, and if so, where do I get another one?

unplug and replug several times. there is a video on you tube showing how to get rechargeable batteries to charge and it explains the whole thing, but rapidly plugging and replugging can fix the problem with some rechargeable batteries. It is worth a try.

The plastic cover faceplate on the front where the on/off switch and LED indicator lights "pops" off. (you will need a sharp pen knife blade to get into the seam and start this process.) Once the faceplate is removed you will see 4 phillips-head screws that hold the two halves of the body together. Taking the body apart will reveal the two rechargeable batteries, but the bad news is that these were not designed to be replaced and are actually bonded (glued) to the control circuit board. This is a good example of engineered obsolescence the manufacturer wants their product to be disposable. I am looking for a razor that has rechargeable batteries that are also replaceable.

The rechargeable battery has degraded and should be replaced to get back optimum performance.

According to the manual, the red light comes on while charging when the battery does not yet have enough charge to sustain a 3-5 minute shave. The green light stays on steady while the razor is charging, and blinks when it is fully charged. If your battery life is short, they might need to be changed.
