Turn off the touchpad on the lenovo g530

You can simply press Fn+F8 key combination. If that doesn't work try to look for a button found on the upper rightmost corner of the laptop panel the press it. Or to make it simple, look for the power button, opposite side of it you will see 4 buttons, the right most button would be for the touchpad, Just press it. It should disable the touchpad and do the same to enable it back.

I have somehow managed to switch the touchpad on my laptop off. What is the shortcut to put it on again?

laptops have an FN function key try pressing on FN then press F8 at the same time or if you have a lenovo and it is a g530 upper right hand corner above the keyboard you should see speakr icons and on the roght last Icone that lookslike a box is for your touhpad, press t once if the light on your touchpad turns off then it will already be enable or turned ON but if the light between the touchpad buttons is lit then it means it is turned off,

the FN+f8 is for a lenovo only for other laptops I really am not sure but if you look clsely to the FN bottons on your keyboard they will have little picture showing what they can enable or disable by click FN + whatever botton for a touchpad it will be a box with a slash on it thus enabling anf disabling your touchpad.
