Question about Refrigerators
Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. If you are using it and need to keep using it buy about 4 boxes of arm and hammer baking soda and cut the top off. Place 3 in fresh food compartment and one in the freezer. It takes time but it does eventually pull out that odor. However... you need to look under the refrigerator at the water catch basin plastic tray. Often liquids from a defrosted refrigerator drain into the pan down there and dry out. Then everytime the unit auto defrosts (2 - 3 times a day that) bad odor is noticed again because the water produced from defrosting liquifies the material in the plastic tray. You should clean that tray really well and wipe out all of the black goo / gunk. Make sure you look at the very end of the cabinet drain tube also that terminates in that same pan. I have found that using Mr. Muscle mold and mildew cleaner does a really good job of cleaning and removing that foul smell. A trade secret here we use Endust on a dry clean inner cabinet to make them smell good and shine.
Thanks for choosing FixYa.
