Question about HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook
Hello, I have an issue and I am quite stumped at what the problem may be. Recently, I had installed Acronis Disk Manager and several other hard drive/disk manager type programs on my laptop and after which I restarted my computer.
Once I restarted my computer, it seemed as though my computer was loading fine at first but it ceased working after the boot menu (screen with the HP logo and screen in which you can choose to enter BIOS). Although, after five mintues I realized that the computer had stopped botting. The computer stops booting in the completely black screen with the white blinking dash in the right upper hand corner.
At first I believed one of the programs I had installed had somehow interfered with the booting process but this no longer seems to be the case. But I no longer think this is the case because I have now replaced the system.sav, default.sav, sam.sav, sofware.sav etc. files with previous backups and yet my computer still does not load.
I have as well used multiple boot disks and have been able to use and extract files from my hard drive. I have done diagnostic tests on all hardware with multiple diagnostic programs\tools. All of the hardware has passed the diagnostic tests except for the motherboard cache test which had failed in only one diagnostic program.
And so, I believe the problem may be more intricate than my current knowledge and so I require some help.
If anyone has any advice or requires clarification please let me know.
