Re: ndsl power problem
As Bob (HowlingMad) said, the Ds and Ds Lite will turn off immediately after being turned on if the connection to the top screen is broken.
Check the connections between the screen and Ds, if they look damaged then try replacing the ribbon cable for the top screen (or you may have to replace the whole screen - i'm not sure if it is built together on the Ds Lite). If the connections appear fine then it may be that due to the movement the connector has come out of it's socket/plug (also like Bob said), this is easily fixable if this is the case and would require you to take the casing off your Ds and plug it back in.

You should have 4 files on your card
you then add the .nds game files from wherever you get them from
Make sure the card is formatted first, ie there are no other files on it. try FAT. rather than FAT 32. I can't remember which but I've had no problems with either the card or the software, best thing since sliced bread, and it only cost me a tenner.
if you would have sent it to me first I would have replaced the case for you and you wouldn't have had these problems, but I can still help you out. I have a white nintendo DS lite in stock that I had to replace the bottom lcd display in. I will ship to you for $90 and if you are feeling adventurous send me your parts and I will take off $10 since I have no clue what is broken and what is not, but to me it sounds like the bottom lcd, touch screen , and circuit board are trash. Heere's the link anyways :- LCD FLICKER SOLUTION
I recommend you to change the broken case, you can choose to change only the hinge and keep the good case parts or change the entire shell. By the way stores usually sell the entire shell so you can choose. As your screens are still working you are lucky because so often the brown flexible conductor to the top screen get broken so be careful.
You can also use a silicon or hard plastic case to put over your broken NDSL to keep it in place just as the fast non technical option.
Here are some links and you can find text and video guides googling around.
The only way you can repair this properly is to replace the casing with a new one... the hinge is a common problem and over 90% of my customers on the DS and DS Lite need a new case due to broken hinges. Once the plastic bit has broken then it will only get worse. The small bit that you say fell out was the actual hinge itself (a small black part with a silver end that twists and locks your console into place when open). Hope that helps!
