Question about Apple iPod classic MP3 Player

My Ipod 160GB black only displays the Apple logo even after resetting. It does not appear in ITunes as well as as hard drive in disk mode. My unit is already turning 3 years. Appreciate your help.

It could be a failing hard drive. if windows doesn'd see it in my computer, or it doesn't show up in finder, and it doesn't show up in iTunes especially, these are all signs. Try restarting the device by pressing and holding menu and center until the apple logo appears. now press and hold center and >ll as soon as the logo appears. this is disk mode. you may try to connect the device when it is in this mode. to exit this mode, simply reset again by pressing menu and center and holding till the apple logo appears.

secondly, try restarting the device by pressing Menu+center at the same time till the apple logo appears. when the loo appears hold center and << . hit menu once you're at the diagnostic screen. scroll to IO. scroll to hard drive. perform a test.

When i turn on my ipod the screen is white how do ifix this


Here are some possible solutions to your problem.

Reset the iPod
  1. Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears).
  3. You may need to repeat the reset several times.
If this does not work, put the iPod into forced disk mode.

Forced Disk Mode
  1. Put your iPod into the charger.
  2. Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears.
  4. Immediately switch your fingers to press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until "Disk Mode" appears at the top.
Putting the iPod into forced disk mode usually resolves this issue. If it does work, plug your iPod into the computer and connect it to iTunes and reset it. If this still does not work, use the restore feature in iTunes with your iPod. Hope this helps!

MY IPOD NANO IS FROZEN

  2. Reset the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect the iPod to a power source by either plugging it into an Apple iPod USB Power Adapter or directly into a computer's USB port.
  3. Let the iPod charge for at least 20 minutes. Note: If the iPod is connected to a computer, make sure the computer does not sleep, standby, or hibernate during the 20-minute charging period.
  4. After the iPod has charged for at least 20 minutes and while it is still connected to the power source, toggle the Hold switch again as in step 1.

      If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
      If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

When i got done chrging my ipod it froze

My IPod reboots continuously, what's wrong?


I solved this problem on my IPod 30G unit. When I would hook it into my computer (Win XP), ITunes would crash and my IPod would just keep rebooting. Even on it's own, it would play for a few seconds and completely reboot over and over. I suspect that part of the problem is that my battery isn't holding a good charge anymore so make sure the unit is fully charged when trying to use it. This may solve the problem.

If charging it isn't the problem, hook your IPod to your data cable and plug it into your computer. Press and hold the Menu and center button for 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Then immediately let go and press and hold the center button and the play button for as long as it takes. You'll see a checkmark appear and your unit will go into disk mode. The 'do not disconnect' message will appear. This is good. Shut down ITunes (if it is running) and go to 'My Computer' and open that. Your IPod should show up as a drive in your listings. Right click on your IPod icon and choose to format the drive. Make sure you use a regular format and that it is being done with the FAT32 file system. It takes a while but it will eventually finish. When it is complete, unplug the IPod from your system, wait a few seconds and your IPod should default to asking you what language you want. Choose your language and hook it back up to your PC.

If things work as they should, ITunes should pop up, ask you a few questions as though it was the first time you are using it and proceed to reinstall everything as it was before.

Problem with ipod classic


Hi! YOu need to disconnect your ipod from the pc.
Put the ipod into diskmode by following these instructions-
Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

After doing this open latest version of itunes and then restore your ipod to factory settings by selecting it from itunes.

Ipod nano 1st generation trouble! help!


Sounds like a corrupt hard drive.

put it into disk mode

  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.

  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Find it in "my computer", right click it and select format. Choose the FAT32 option and hit OK.

Once its done, restart your computer and plug in your pod. Start itunes and it should automatically reinstall the ipod firmware.
