Cannot install/unistall java

This is not about this product (this product relates to it) anyways, i wanted to play a java game. i went on it and it said that you do not have java installed. but i know i do! (yesterday i used it.) i went to download java. when i try to install it this pops up: "This software has alredy been installed on your computer. Would you like to reinstall it?" i click yes. then the windows installer loads a bit and again the same message pops up. i click yes again, and it loads a bit and then it dissapers. I go to add/remove programs. and there is java updates only. nothing else from java. i click remove, and this pops up "fatal error during installation" any help?

Oh ... I don't know apple then hehehe sorry.

  • Dung Nguyen May 08, 2008

delete all trace of java :) ...

    uninstall all java

reboot ...then go to website that needs java and take it from there :)

  • Dung Nguyen May 08, 2008

first I would uninstall from add/remore program.

then look in all the known place that java folder would be.

then do a search for "Java"

delete whatever Java folder are left that you thing that is not needed.

    reintall java.

TotalMedia Extreme 2 Plug In

I used to have this problem and wanted to chuck my computer across the room,
but here is the solution. You have to unistall TME and it's drivers, and reinstall it.
Although here is the trick, when it asks you what componets you want with it,
(ex: Arcsoft media converter 2.5, Arcsoft media theater, ETC) you want to enable
to install all of them. After that wait and it should work. I did a little praying
because I was pretty desperate to record some gaming montage clips. So yeah
there you go :D

Java pops up when im on pogo but its not in my

i would uninstall java in a complete fashion.. remove it with revo uninstaller located on use the advanced mode to remove old registry entries, and also program locations within your system. then go to and download the latest java version..before you install clean your browsers with ccleaner. do as system defrag, and re-check your program files to make sure there is no empty folders of java left.. also type %APPDATA% in your search run bar in the start menu to look for any folders of java located deeper in your system files.. and please try to clear your prefetch folder before you install.. if not, then just follow the instructions i have listed excludeing the prefectch clean.. do your fresh install now, and reboot. try it now..

Java Problem

your java will most likely need to be updated or it is disabled in the internet explorer. try using FIREFOX instead of internet explorer. this is faster more secure and will allow java to run.

Norton2005 product key

Forget Symantec. Even if you install the key successfully, the product will be effective for a very limited time (till Symantec bans the key or it expires).

Why not opt for a better product - Comodo. Its free, and has daily updates too.

You will first need to unistall Symantec (Norton) first.
