Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I am working on an emachine. when I turn on the computer some times the monitor turns off while booting up and sometimes the keyboard will not work. I disconnected the moinitor and keyboard and turned the computer on and off so the drivers would be reinstalled. That worked for the Keyboard and it worked at first for the monitor. the computer would start to boot up and the monitor would shut down. Not once did the computer beep indicating the monitor or keyboard was disconnected. I tried starting the the computer in SAFE Mode, but the same thing happened. This emachine has the MOBO D33007. what do I do now?

My computer will turn on but my monitor does not get a signal and I've tried this on two working monitors and two different power chords. The lights on the keyboards don't even work. Any solution?

I was just dealing with this last night. My pc would come on, but I kept getting a "No Signal" message on my monitor. I first plugged the machine into a known working monitor. It worked fine so that eliminated the video card issue. Then I plugged the monitor into a different computer...it too worked. So I knew that the monitor was good. I then switched the cord from the faulty monitor and still didn't get a signal. I proceeded investigating the issue. I found that if you boot the machine in safe mode, it actually caught a signal. So...I figured it must be something to do with the resolution. My solution: Boot the machine in safe mode, change the resolution in the control panel and reboot the machine. If it doesnt catch the signal booting in safe mode, I suspect it is a faulty video card. You are likely to find what you are looking for online at zipzoomfly.com or newegg.com

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

Monitor boots ok, then "Analog" appears/monitor shuts off

Does it have a digital port being used? If you are using the DVI port, it is probably digital. Try using the menu to selct the port. If it doesn't work, not sure from here. What is the model number?

Desk top emachine powers on

You state that thre are no beeps coming from the PC upon boot. If you remove the memory entirely and reboot, you should get a series of BIOS post tones. If you do not get these, I would first test your power supply to make sure it is working properly. If it is, you most likely have a failed hardware component: either motherboard or processor. If you get no post tones without memory loaded and with a known good power supply, the motherboard will be your problem child.

If you DO get post tones with a known good power supply, try replacing memory 1 stick at a time (if you have more than 1). If 1 works, you have your culprit. If neither work, then you most likely have a bad processor.

Process of elimination...sucks sometimes :-(

After installing hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse not working

Have you tried to enter BIOS? Are you able to enter BIOS?? There may be an option you have to hit to enable SATA, and to select the boot device order, which may be messing things up.
Also, remember that STATIC ELECTRICITY is your enemy! Ground yourself when working inside the case.

Computer boots fine but the monitor is blank

if the monitor works fine on your laptop, the problem definitely is at the computer, possibly with the video card (if it is using one). it could have loose connection, or parts might have damages. it seems the problem is intermittent so electronic component of the video card could have parts partially damages or leaky components.
if your still using the motherboards built in video out put, try installing a new video card.

Computer or Monitor problem?

Seems like you have a bad motherboard. Try a different keyboard, mouse, and VGA cable, and see if it works. I fnot then you deffinitely need a new motherboard.
