Can I use my online account to determine which items i purchased are under manufacturer's or Best Buy Extended Warranty (purchased by me at time of sale)?

Hello,

If you're needing information on how to register for what a lot of stores call the 'Extended Product Protection' or Wally Word calls it the 'Product Care Plan' I believe, there are a few different ways to do it. To save time; you'd need your receipt and if they provided you with any documentation - like a tri-fold brochure explaning the extended coverage options, you'll need that too. In most cases you can register the product with only the receipt of the item.
I would need to know where you purchased the item and at least the brand, make model to tell you exactly how to do it - retailers run the extended coverage warranty in different ways. But usually it goes like this:
- product comes w/a one year warrant and they offer an additional year at the counter while you're checking it out for a fee, for example
- (or) a company is offering to extend the warrant on an item for one year after manufacturer's warranty either at checkout on their online store or possibly through an email offer - in either case - they'd request that you either fill it out online - or print and mail it in along with your receipt (some places print 2 receipts for this type of situation - one for you to keep and one that should accompany the product registration mail in, rebate mail in or extended coverage mail in.
If you purchased at counter - it all depends on where you purchased the item. Usually you can go to the retailers website and they should have a link you can click to register or another for the 2 year product protection. Click on link/follow instructions.

Or - you'll have to call by phone. It's usually a simple process where you provide them with the proper receipt information They'll take it over the phone or by email and provide you with a confirmation number for reference/troubleshooting and that's it. That's the basic system.

(even if you didn't purchase at counter - you can purchase the extended coverage within 30 days of your purchase)

-- Sometimes the manufacturer of the product will have a link to the underwriter (Assurion is a 3rd Party company that offers this insurance to countless manufacturers and companies - Verizon and too many others to mention use Assurion)

- So either the point of sale or the manufacturer should have the info readily available. Here's a good one though that could save you a few dollars: American Express on some or maybe all of their cards, has a pretty cool perk - if you purchase the item using your American Express - and that item/store that is selling you that item offer a one year extended warranty on top of the manufacturer's...it's free. Purchases made with your American Expresss Card on items that offer the extended year on top of the year are covered by American Express. And it's legit. They've got a few cool perks - if you buy a small, mid-size or sedan rental car - maybe vans and mini-vans, I'm not sure - and book the rental car AND pay with your American Express, you recieve standard car rental coverage insurance automatically - and are instructed by American Express to REFUSE the insurance at the door because you're already covered. - here's a link to American Express' free extended warranty extension page. Tip

Non-Working Cell Touch Screens


There are companies that can replace your cell touch screen at a reasonable fee, but if your phone is still under the manufacturer's warranty without water damage or you purchased an extended service contract/warranty through your cell provider take your phone to a store location to have your phone repaired/replaced as soon as possible. I hope this helps you all because when the screen on my Verizon DARE spider webbed for no reason I was at a loss, it was 3 days old and babied. Fortunately I got the extended service at best buy and they gave me a brand new one on the spot.

My father received this laptop in December 2010 from my brother. (his grandson may of actually bought it) at a Best Buy. I am pretty sure they even bought an extended warranty. The laptop is not working...


If you bought the extended warranty from Best Buy they should have the information saved, if you just give them the name of the person the warranty is under. They should have a database storing all their warranty information.

Have an extended warranty on my acer lap top internet port burned out trying to get it fixed bought on nov.25th 2008 and have and extended warranty until 11/25 2011 how do i file claim


You need to find out who your warranty is covered through. Example if you purchased it at Best Buy, then contact Best Buy and they will give you the warranty group information or help you setup the claim. Or if you have your extended sales information that you should have received at the time of purchase, you can refer to that also.

Emachines monitor e15tr model 568 wont come on


Try to connect the monitor to the VGA-output port of some other desktop or notebook computer. If it does not work, then it needs repair or replacement. If the monitor still under warranty:
* standard 1-year warranty from Gateway
* extended warranty that you may have purchased from Gateway
* extended warranty that some credit-cards offer for items purchased with that card
* extended warranty that you may have purchased from the retailer

???

If not, it's probably cheaper to replace a 15" or 17" or 19" monitor
that it would be to try to repair it.

No, but if you need to ask "how", then you really _should_ entrust your laptop to a certified technician.

Is the laptop still under the manufacturer's warranty?
Did you purchase (online or at the retail store) an "extended" warranty?
Did you purchase it with a credit-card that automatically extends the warranty?

How do i get extra warranty


An extended warranty is normally offered by a retailer at the time of the sale. With some products such as cars, computers, and televisions, there are companies that will sell you an extended warranty as long as you purchase it before the manufacturer's warranty runs out. There are a few manufacturers that will sell an extended warranty to an owner of their product, but, once again, it has to happen before the original warranty runs out.

Contact the manufacturer and ask if they offer extended warranties. If they don't and you're still within their warranty, visit the link below. They offer extended warranties of 4 and 6 years for appliances.

Probably not as a cracked display usually results from dropping or sitting something heavy on the unit.

If it just cracked under normal use, then this would be a defect and it should be covered under your warranty. The only sure way to know is to take it in and try your best to convince them that this is covered under your warranty.

FYI, the warranty is probably from the manufacturer, unless you got some extended warranty through Best Buy? Otherwise the stores responsibility varies from state to state.
