The tank valve is consist from small piston and on its adje have a small rubber 'o' ring the piston move with a small spring.
The key in your problem is that finally you can make it stop leaking this mean that everything is in place and not completly damage, however you may still have it a bend spring or psiton and it can not seat in place directly or you may have a scale deposit arount the valve which blocking it from seat in its place. Also the plastic psiton or its base might have tear out so it loose and difficult ot seat in its place from the first time.
So the best solution since this not an expesive part is to replace the valve completly with anew one this will save you time and trouble.
Good luck

I would suspect the seal on top of the machine under the big doughnut shaped cover. Pry the cover off and stick your finger into the black seal and if it comes out its bad, and needs to be replaced, not the oring.

Saeco xelsis leaking water

The removable drip tray inside the front of the machine has two rubber inserts on the back side and the rubber has come away from the plastic causing a false leak. You will need to order a new one or fix the existing one.

Tip

Our commode isn't leaking, yet it refills many times a day

If your commode is refilling over and over, you may have a Ghost Flushing problem. Even though there's no water on the bathroom floor, you likely still have a slow leak somewhere in the tank. To locate and identify the source of the leak fill the tank and shut off the water to the commode. Remove the tank lid and draw a pencil line along the top edge of the water line. Leave the water turned off and go back several times and redraw the pencil line at the water line. When the water stops draining see where the water level is. If the water has stopped just below the overflow tube, you likely have a siphoning problem. If the water drains to the bottom of the tank you likely have a flapper problem.
To correct the siphoning problem reset the the depth of the fill tube in the overflow tube. Fill the tank up, shut the water off, and recheck after some time. Repeat these steps until the water stops draining.
To correct the flapper problem gently lift the flapper and clean the bottom of the flapper and the flapper seat. Refill the tank, shut the water off, and recheck later. If water still leaks replace the flapper.

During the replacement of my radiator, the ac line was knocked lose. Do I need to a specialist to refill the freon? I have a 2001 300M

The correct answer is "yes".

The backyard mechanic answer is this:
Reconnect all hoses.
Use a recharge kit with the engine off and just put some pressure back into the system, keeping the Refrigerant can upright. Check for any leaks with soapy water by the repaired connection.

If no leaks, you know have to purge the system. The correct way is to evacuate the air with a vacuum pump. If you don't have that, the alternative is to remove the kit from the charge port. Carefully press in the small pin in the center of the port to open the valve and release all the gas you just charged in. Refill again like you did the first time, DONT run the engine, just let the refrigerant can pressurize the system again. The bleed it off again. Repeat this several times.

Each time you do that, you dilute the air that may have gotten into the system, and increase the percentage of refrigerant vapor. After about four or five times doing this, most of the air and moisture should be removed. Refill the system as described on your refill kit and you should be back in business.

Note: don't this with R-12 gas, it is an environmental hazard, R134a is not.

Slow leak from tank into bowl. We can hear tank refilling once or twice a night.

I'm contractor for the last 17 years and this is the first time I have problems with the toilet tank installation , I bought four toilets, three of them had a leaking tank I thought that the place that had bolt did not have enough pressure and I put more pressure every five minutes but the toilets kept on leaking, I took the bolts out and I put plumbing putty in the top and the bottom and installed it again but it kept on leaking then i removed the putty and i put liquid teflon on the bolts and finally the leaking stoped. How do you replace the fuel pump in a 1997 Ford thunderbird?

Electric Fuel Pump REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Non-Supercharged
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Remove the fuel tank and place it on a bench.
  3. Remove any dirt that has accumulated around the fuel pump retaining flange so it will not enter the tank during pump removal and installation.
  4. Turn the fuel pump locking ring counterclockwise and remove the locking ring.
  5. Remove the fuel pump and bracket assembly. Remove and discard the seal ring. To install:
  6. Clean the fuel pump mounting flange, fuel tank mounting surface and seal ring groove.
  7. Apply a light coating of grease on a new seal ring to hold it in place during assembly and install in the seal ring groove.
  8. Install the fuel pump and bracket assembly carefully to ensure the filter is not damaged. Make sure the locating keys are in the keyways and the seal ring remains in the groove.
  9. Hold the pump assembly in place and install the locking ring finger-tight. Make sure all the locking tabs are under the tank lock ring tabs.
  10. Rotate the locking ring clockwise until the ring is against the stops.
  11. Install the fuel tank in the vehicle. Add a minimum of 10 gallons of fuel to the tank and check for leaks.
  12. Install a suitable fuel pressure gauge on the valve on the fuel rail.
  13. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON for 3 seconds. Repeat this procedure 5–10 times until the pressure gauge shows at least 35 psi. Check for fuel leaks.
  14. Remove the pressure gauge, start the engine and check for leaks. prev.gif next.gif

Hot water tank leaks, big time, as it refills, stops dripping

If the leak is from the tank itself, no you can not fix it. If it is a supply pipe and the leak is visible, in most cases yes. I would recommend you have this issue resolved very soon. If the tank has sprung a leak, it will be a matter of time before the leak becomes a flood.

No pressure when i press break, slight leak under left rear tire,

1st need to know where the leak is? Is it a rusted line, or? To bleed after repairing leak, do the following: Have a helper start the Jeep, go to the wheel the greatest distance from the master cylinder, have helper pump brake pedal 3 times, pushing down about 1/2 way on pedal each time. 3rd time, he should hold pedal at 1/2 way down point while you open bleeder to let air/fluid out. As flow is about to stop, close bleeder. Repeat til all air removed. Check master cyl and refill often, because if you draw in air, you have to start all over. Go to the next wheel that's now the greatest distance from master cyl, repeat, til you get to wheel closest to master cyl. Done!!
