Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Roland D-50 music sythesizer keyboard. It's old(80's) but has a lot of good sounds and I'd like to know if it's possible to get a service manual for it. I've never used these forums before and am not sure if I'm doing it right. I didn't see anything in the "Pick an Expert" drop down list that matched what I'm looking for so I don't know what to enter in it. Please let me know if you need any more information from me. Do I need to register? How much will it cost if you can find the service manual for me to download? Is this an appropriate request? I would appreciate your response very much. Vern

Hi,

You can download the service manual in PDF format by clicking this link. This is a free download.

Please note that some of the larger charts in this manual are split into different sheets and so you will have to join them after printing to view them correctly.

Additionally, you can download the owner's manual and quick start manual by clicking these links:

You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your computer to view the manual. If it is not already installed on your computer, download it free from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Hope this solves your problem. Kindly rate and accept the solution if you find it helpful.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why wont my roland JW 50 keyboard turn on. I have the correct adapter. Has a circuit blown or what could need replacing?

Does it have a place for batteries? If so try that. If that works then you know something is wrong with adapter, or connector. Have you made sure you have the polarity correct on the adaptor. Generally the center is positive, but not always. Do you have a miltimeter to test the voltage on the adaptor, 9 volt sounds low on a device like that. Try those an get back to post.

I have a roland xp-50 with no power at all. What should I try?

ftp://ftp.roland.co.uk/productsupport/

I would start by checking AC cord is good, look for a blown fuse (BE CAREFUL !!!!) or maybe a defective OFF/ON switch. This keyboard is from the mid 1990's so PLEASE consider this before having it expertly repaired. $$$$$$$

I have a very loud hiss/buzz sound coming from my Roland. It goes away if I lower the high volume knob. This just starred to happen recently. I tried changing connections from ch1-4 but no fix.

If this ties to a keyboard, make sure the keyboard and this are BOTH plugged into the same receptacle. You should send a higher level from the keyboard (turn volume up to around 70% or so) and use less volume at the input gain of this amp. Use more at master volume if the amp has one if needed. If the hiss is there with NO input cables plugged in and input gains at 50%, that is objectionable, the amp probably needs servicing. Unused channel gains should be clear down.

There are lots of IC's in the unit. Order from Roland support parts. That will be the only source.

Need to replace black keys on Korg triton. Is it a major job to take the keyboard apart and replace the keys? In Bermuda there is very limited repair resources. I have replaced keys before on my old...

Typically lots of screws to remove. Be careful unplugging any ribbon cables. The cables are easily damamged by exerting force on just the edges.

Have new parts available BEFORE taking it apart for repair.

Roland keyboard. Extremely static-y speakers. Cuts out.

It sounds like your volume slider is dirty. Try carefully and judiciously spraying a good quality contact cleaner into the slider and working it. do not use a lot. It only takes a little. Also do not use WD40.

Try Roland.com on the internet. It's a pretty good website and should show you dealers in your area.
