Have a 3 switch to heater light and fan. when i turn on heater with light on dim, flash/spark behind heater switch. is this normal

You have a triple switch that controls bathroom heat, fan, light combo.
When lights are off inside room, and you flip the heater switch, you see a flash of light inside the switch.

The switch is mounted in electrical box. If flash is inside the box where electric wires are, then that is NOT normal and should be looked after by checking connections and securing wire nuts.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-twist-electric-wire.html

If the flash is inside the switch, then that can be normal. But it also might be time to replace switch if switch is old.
What happens inside a switch is that 2 brass connectors come together.
The amp draw from heater is large, so a lot of electricity suddenly passes across the brass connections and produces a flash of light.
If flash is accompanied by a sound, for example crackling or fizzing, and/or you smell electrical burning, then that indicates the switch needs to be replaced.

How do I change out the head light switch on 1992 geo storm

The headlight switch on this car may be changeable, but are you having a problem with the headlights working at all?

If so, then the following may be helpful:
---
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Spectrum The headlight control switch is a 3 position, push type switch which is located at the left side of the instrument panel.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the instrument cluster bezel retaining screw and the bezel.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. Place the bezel on a bench and remove the 2 nuts securing the headlight control switch.
  4. Remove the headlight control switch.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
Storm The headlight control switch is located at the left hand side of the instrument panel on the meter hood.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the meter hood.
  3. Remove the instrument cluster from the meter hood.
  4. Remove the 2 clips attaching headlight control harness.
  5. Remove the 4 screws attaching the headlight switch to the meter hood.
  6. Disconnect electrical connectors from the switch and remove the switch.
  7. Reverse procedure to install. Connect battery negative cable.

SWITCHES & RELAYS Switches are used in electrical circuits to control the passage of current. The most common use is to open and close circuits between the battery and the various electric devices in the system. Switches are rated according to the amount of amperage they can handle. If a sufficient amperage rated switch is not used in a circuit, the switch could overload and cause damage. Fig. 1: The underhood fuse and relay panel usually contains fuses, relays, flashers and fusible links tcca6p02.jpg
Some electrical components which require a large amount of current to operate use a special switch called a relay. Since these circuits carry a large amount of current, the thickness of the wire in the circuit is also greater. If this large wire were connected from the load to the control switch, the switch would have to carry the high amperage load and the fairing or dash would be twice as large to accommodate the increased size of the wiring harness. To prevent these problems, a relay is used. Relays are composed of a coil and a set of contacts. When the coil has a current passed though it, a magnetic field is formed and this field causes the contacts to move together, completing the circuit. Most relays are normally open, preventing current from passing through the circuit, but they can take any electrical form depending on the job they are intended to do. Relays can be considered "remote control switches." They allow a smaller current to operate devices that require higher amperages. When a small current operates the coil, a larger current is allowed to pass by the contacts. Some common circuits which may use relays are the horn, headlights, starter, electric fuel pump and other high draw ciruits. Fig. 2: Relays are composed of a coil and a switch. These two components are linked together so that when one operates, the other operates at the same time. The large wires in the circuit are connected from the battery to one side of the relay switch (B+) and from the opposite side of the relay switch to the load (component). Smaller wires are connected from the relay coil to the control switch for the circuit and from the opposite side of the relay coil to ground tcca6g02.gif

My van occasionally downshifts on its own

The main wiring harness connector for electrical to the transmission is dirty, cracked, or otherwise not connecting tightly, and causes faults in electrical signals to the transmission. This can also cause the reverse to cut in/out and make large banging noises with no immediate damage. You may have to replace the connector.

Replace 200 amp breaker

If this is the Service Disconnect Switch or Main Switch for the panel, this job should probably left for an electrician to perform, as power should be shut off at the meter socket or at the roadside first. If this is not done, the work will be "hot".

Unlike most circuit breakers in electrical panels, Service Disconnect Switches and Main Switches have the power brought to the panel by entering terminal screws. Shutting the Main or Service Disconnect breaker off prevents the flow of current *into* the panel and other circuit breakers. The large wires that are connected to the terminal screws are LIVE, and will remain so until shut off *upstream*.

Working in a panel with two large diameter cables that do not move easily is a hazard and should not be done unless you are very familiar with this work - and of course, have shut the power off.

Please, reconsider doing this work yourself.

The F70 and F71 error codes on this model of washer indicates a communication problem between the user interface control board and the central control unit (main control board). These error codes can sometimes be caused by a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. Try unplugging the washer to completely disconnect electrical power. Wait 1 minute and then plug the washer back in to the see if the fault code clears. If it does, then the washer may work normally.

If the code reappears, then you could have a wire harness connection problem, a failed user interface control board or a failed central control unit. I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair this type of problem so that the correct component can be replaced.

Be sure your unit is plugged into a 3 prong grounded outlet as well.

F71 is a "heatbeat failure" which means that your front interface control board is shorted and will need to be replaced. it's actually fairly easy to replace and can definitely be done by yourself. To access the part, just pull the unit forward and remove the 3 screws coming in from the back of the top panel. Remove the top panel by pulling it back, up, and off. Then remove all the screws going into the top of the control panel. Remove the dispenser drawer and remove the screws coming in through the dispenser. Remove the screws coming from the inside of the dryer going forward into the control panel, then remove the control panel (it's just clipped in on the bottom. After that you can disconnect the wire harnesses to the front interface control board and replace that part.

KERC600GWH1 glass control panel is cracked.

Replacing the Ceramic top is not difficult. Just remember to be careful. There should be 2-to-5 screws holding the top to the front support. Removing these screws will allow the top to be tilted up and back. Depending on the style you may have to remove the burner plates from the top. Remember to disconnect the power before attempting any repair
