Computer keeps on telling me "please insert a disk into drive E:"

I experienced problems with my flash disk as it kept on telling me that files i had copied to it were corrupt, some times it ended up with empty folders when i had in fact copied folders with items in them onto the flash.IConsequently, i went to the disk's properties and ran error checking, this failed to complete. When i removed the flash disk and put it back again it just reflected Removable Disk(E:), when i try to open the disk it keeps on telling me to insert disk into drive E:.Way forward???????

same problem. some say it's a brick others say it's fixable. Tried everything I could find. software. reformat. Killdisk. No luck.
I'm trying the freezer right now. I've tried everything else. I think it's a format issue. Anybody else ???

One way to avoid this problem is not to save data that is equal to or more than the flash disk capacity.

I transferred a file onto a SanDisk and it shows up on the disk on that computer but when I insert the disk into the computer I want to copy the file to it says This folder is empty. I don't get i

What operating system is on the computer you copied the file from, the computer it's going to? Did you encrypt the flash drive? Example: if you have the drive formatted for HF+ on a Apple you won't be able to see it on a Windows box without a little help. If this is the case, plug the drive in the Windows computer format it as NTFS. Plug it back into the Apple, Apple can see NTFS, copy the file to flash drive, plug into win comp and it will see it.

My acer aspire one netbook AOD257 keeps telling me no bootable device insert boot disk

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Lexar 8GB wont work. when i insert it, it shows up on my computer as connected but then when i click on the lexar icon to view my files on it, it doesn't open, the message: 'please insert disk into drive...

Some computers will not support a large 8GB stick. The best some will do is 2GB, If you are running a computer pre-2001, you may not be able to use the 8GB stick (I have the same problem with my desktop PC). It just is not supported!

My flash disk does not format what is the problem? i put the flash in the windows xp system port it becomes recognised by the system i try to open it ,it tells me the disk is not formated do you want to...

Your flash disk has been infected by virus that is why you are unable to open the flash drive. The best thing you can do is to download a good antivirus such as MacaFee or Avira or scan the flash drive for virus.

An alternative thing you can do is to insert your flash drive into a linux operated pc such as Fedora, Ubuntu, Open Susie or Redhat and then delete all the files in the Flash drive and format it

File system unrecognised by any of the operating system like windows and linux versions

Is this flash drive used souly at home, or do you take it and plug it into other computers? If that is the case, you may want to scan it, before opening it, cause you could be bringing home a virus.
