Question about Mutsy 4Rider - Black Stroller

Open Question

Can anyone tell me how to change an inner tube on my Mutsy 4Rider stroller? Front tire. I removed the front wheel unit and took the 2 hex screws out of the axel, but still can't remove it. So, I need to remove the wheel from the frame, but once I get that done, I'll need to figure out how to get the tire off the wheel. Couldn't find an owner's manual online that could point me in the right direction. Any assistance would be much appreciated! Chris

SOURCE: have bought second hand mutsy stroller, no manual

Hi,

First remove the seat or carrycot/car seat if this is on the chassis. Then, stand to the left of the chassis. Push down the button on the handle which lowers the handle bar height with your right hand. With your left hand, take a hold of the black cuff on the side of the chassis (this should be about waist height). In one movement, you need to pull the left hand up, whilst pushing down your right hand, this needs to be done at the same time, and with some force.
When the chassis is lowered toward the floor, this will click shut. To open the chassis, there is a small metal arm on the left hand side of the chassis with a red cover on (this is quite little) you need to lift this button upwards (towards you) and the chassis will open.

I hope this helps.

Callaway crosstrax push cart front flat repair

I too searched the internet. I have Calloway Crosstrax push cart. I put too much air in front tires and it blew. Be sure to put only 28psi of pressure in that front tire. These tubes cost at least $10. I Finally figured it out how to take this darn wheel off to replace tube. After 2 hours and revisiting after having a beer it came to me. Remove the two screws on each side of the wheel. Unloosen hex screw at bottom of fork. You don't have to remove the hex screw and not sure if it has to be unloosened. The key is to get pair of grip plyers and pull those black end caps out. A little on each side at a time. The tire assembly comes right out. Don't forget to release brake from closed position. Hope this helps.

My Mutsy stroller squeaks!

mcdevito75 here, Chances are the plastic has become hard and is not as flexable as it was when new, now the plastic rubs against the metal causeing the noise. You can try to use Vasoline petroleum jelly on and in between the plastic and the metal.

Problem with front wheel of jane 3-wheeler stroller

The front wheel swivel has become a problem with some strollers that are a little longer than the standard three wheel stroller. This has been happening with the new Phil & Ted's Vibe as well.

This can be approached in a few different ways. The easiest is to take the wheel off completely and properly lube the connection pieces. You can use a standard axle grease, or WD40 if you have some in your home. When the tire is properly lubed, re-attach it. This should take care of the problem.

If that does not work, the wheel's inner tube might be/have been over-inflated. When this occurrs, a part of the tube bubbles and causes the wheel to wobble while being pushed. Deflate the tire slightly and see if this helps. If the tube has been over-inflated for some time, it may be necessairy to completely replace the tube - you can do this at most bike shops that sell replacement tubes.

If this does not stop the tire from wobbling, please feel free to contact us anytime.

Mutsy Urban Rider

Hi guys, I had this problem when I first got my urban rider - the trick is to put the seat on correctly in the first place. If you look under the front of the seat (when seat is facing away from mum/dad) you'll see 2 plastic hooks - these need to be hooked over the first horizontal bar of three that you can see (it has a small black plastic nobbly bit on it) then, as you were doing, push the handle and pull the 'tube'. If the seat is facing you (child travelling backwards) it won't fold, neither will it fold with the carry cot attached.
Hope this helps! Tegans mum x
