Question about Miele G892SC SS Dishwasher

3 Answers

My MIele G682 SC is draining slowly. Everything is working fine in the beginning cycle but by mid cycle the intake/drain warning light comes on and the machine shuts down I suspect thers is something that got past the filler and is stuck in the drain line. Is this a easy DIY fix or do I need to call Meile?

We had an issue with the water drain pipe becomming blocked at the point that the hose connected to the drain pipe for the sink. I believe a small nut or cherry seed was trapped here and restricted water flow such that the sensor detected an error and prevented drainage. I had disconnected the hose but found the nut/seed caught in the connector on the back of the pipe.

It ispossible that the drain pump/drain valve is faulty and since the function is timed slow the controller is sensing the issue as a fault and shuts down.
So check the drain , open the drain hose and clean the valve of dirt. checck if possible with an external votage the action of the drain pump/valve.
also check the input of the inlet valve. Clean and reset the valve once confirmed..
If however there is a fault in the parts checcked , replace.
You will be able to do all these jobs well but if you do not have any result , then the controller can be faulty and it will be better to get help.

Miele 863 sc will not run a cycle, it just hums and says check intake drain which we have cleaned and checked all drains and screens

Something may have made it past the drain, is now stuck in the pump or its' intake. Put a tray under it and remove the drain connection to the pump. Unplug the unit first.

well as I cant be specific as ive never heard of this model even, but I know washers in general pretty well , I can say if you have a digital display that tells cycle time (again un usual) and it stops timing , this seems a pretty sure thing you have an electronics problem , most likely in the circuit boards themselves , but if your not sure of what does what , it might be a little less expensive to enlist someone that does b4 just shotgun replacing boards because they can get expensive !!

Miele g 892 sc intake/drain light is lite and unit will not operate

hi,

this is a general fault light which could mean anything without a Miele Technician coming out and connecting a
laptop to the unit. However most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.

Intake drain light flashing

1. Unscrew air gap which is on the counter-top next to sink.
2. Unscrew drain clamp under the sink which s connected to the air gap.
3. Use a wire hanger to push down debris clogging the drain.
4. Screw clamp and air gap back in place.
5. The dishwasher should work. Routinely clean out air gap every half year.

Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher Drainage / inlet warning light

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.
