Check the thermal fuse on the blower housing, remove the back panel and you will see a white fuse with blue wires connected to it it is to the left of the vent tube of the dryer if it shows no contunity then the fuse is bad and needs to be replaced

its sound like the belt could have broken off or overheated normally when a belt breaks the machine no longer runs except for the timer noise you hear remove clotche from dyer turn the drum manually if it turns freely by hand that meens your belt is broken thanks from gilles
I have a kenmore gas dyer, it will start to dry then go out and just run. you can shunt it dwn resit the timer the time it needs start it and it will lite for a cycle then go out, short burn, then out. is it a senor???? JW
Check with a multi-meter for power on THE heating element's tags (115/220V). If it does get power, you should replace the heating element. In case of no power- you should replace the thermostat.
