Question about Verbatim VER95327 USB Hard Drive
It may not be partitioned.
Under windows xp and up, you can StartMenu->Run
diskmgmt.msc to check this and/or partition the drive.
It's also fairly common to see refurb/recert units that have been used on a diff operating system. So, if it was used on a mac, windows probably won't see it and you'll need to repartition/reformat.

1. Right click on My Computer and choose Manage.
2. Navigate to Disk Management and check to see if the drive is appearing as a drive.
3. If it is showing as unallocated, right-click on it and Partition the drive.
4. If it is showing as formatted and healthy, right-click on it, choose 'change Drive Letter and Path' to assign a drive letter.
