I have a YH-925 Samsung and this massage has been displayed for a several times. HOWEVER, the device hasn`t proved to be worthless!!! I`m sorry, but the previous comment has been obviously posted just like that, without any certain experience! Here it is. So, as you know, this is a really complicated electronic device and like all other hdd players, there are often errors in the softwear. Normally, by restarting the player, by pressing the RESTART button on the back, the device should be restarted. BUT, the problem is that it is not. You don`t actually stop the electricity that is running to the processor and that`s why certain false commands (causing the problem) are still running. And they will be, until slightest electricity in the battery is left. I cannot be sure that your problem is that sort of, because you may have ,for example, dropped your player so badly that the Hard Drive got corrupted. I cannot help here. But these Hard Drives are actually preety reliable, so the possibility to have it seriously damaged is not much likely. How do I repair my player? Of course you should first of all try to repair the device by using the Recovery Utilities by Samsung (you know, holding >> (forward) while connecting the switched off device to the usb). If this doesn`t help, read further. Operate very very carefully! Open the player by removing the back cover. Remove the HDD. Disconnect the battery and than connect it again. Now the electricity in the processor has been stopped and old commands are canceled. Make sure everything is on place and watch out that you don`t damage the battery`s cable. Than attach the Hard Disc to the motherboard again. Be careful, watch out that it connects to the board. Close the player. Start it. Hopefully, it loads the boot programm and your problem is solved up. I reccomend repairing the HDD by using the Recovery Utilities, (you may also format it, but you`ll lose all data). Actually the same problem may occur again, there is no guarantee. I have had it three times until now. Please notice that the song titles should be written in latein (english). I had some in cyrillic, and this probably drives the player crazy, since it doesn`t recognize the alphabet. PLEASE mail me, if I managed to help you sort it out! I`ll be delighted! GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: initial fail error
The HDD is disconnected from the player. When you open up the player just carefully push the circut board thing on the gold foil behind the hdd in untill it clicks.

SOURCE: Boot problem
Reinstall your operating system. First start p with the method you described, then backup all important data. YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ON YOUR HARDDISK SO BACK UP IMPORTANT DATA AND PROGRAMS, OR YOU WILL LOSE THEM!!! Then insert the disk with your Operating System, and restart the computer. Boot from the disk and install the OS. After that you can reinstall your prgrams and put your data back on it.It should boot fien from now on. If not, please post back here. I hope this helps, Yannick.

See if you can download it from Microsoft. It seems to be related to the languge translators in Windows (NLS file).
