In that case the tv has an internal defect - a (or more) part has failed. To find out which the tv must be opened and tested by someone with experience.
There's nothing more you can do, call a certified repairman.

My Sanyo 52 inch tv has no sound and no picture but the green power button comes on

Make sure that all you auxiliary cords are plugged in to the back of the tv. If it is hooked up to cable you may have to play with the connector a little until it shows a picture.

Hi

There are some factors of this kind of problem.

First you could have a failure in the power supply. Next could be the main board. Lastly you could have a problem with the panel itself, this would mean a new set for sure because the part cost is more than a new set.

However try troubleshooting the problem before spending money on repairing or replacing the television. Possibly you can restore the picture and sound to your television ...

Verify the TV is powered on by pressing the power button on the TV's remote or the front panel of the set. This may seem like an obvious step, but many TVs are equipped with a standby light that will illuminate if the TV is turned off, making it appear that the TV is on when it is not.Cycle through the TV's video inputs to verify that your TV is set to the right one. For instance, if you are attempting to use a digital cable converter box that is plugged into the Video 1 input and the TV is set to a Video 2 input that has nothing plugged into it, the TV will not display any picture or sound and may even say "No signal" on the screen. To cycle through the inputs, use the input selection button, typically labeled "input," "source," "TV/video" or the like.

Re-seat the video and audio input connections to verify a loose cable is not causing the TV's loss of signal. If you have a coaxial cable connected from your wall cable jack directly into the TV, it may have come loose thereby eliminating all picture and sound on the TV. Locate the connection cable or cables of whatever device you are attempting to watch and unplug them from where they plug into the TV. Plug them back in and check for a signal. If there is still no picture or sound at this point, the best option is to contact technical support for further assistance.

My ps3 is connected to tv via hdmi cable. After playing online i changed the game disc to another and now there is no picture on tv. there is the sound but no picture??? Any ideas? Thanks

Press and hold the power button until the system beeps.
Restart the system. This should default the audio and video settings to whatever cable is plugged in, which in this case is the HDMI port.
This should fix your sound issue.

My ps3 will turn on but wont show a picture on the tv or give sound

Reset the video settings by turning on the ps with only the power cable plugged in, when turning on continue to hold the power button until you hear a second set of beeps then turn off the console.
Boot up the ps and plug in your av/hdmi cable and you should have picture and sound.

42' plasma magnavox model # 42MF230A has no picture and no sound

I had the same problem with an Insignia 42" 1080p. Turn off the tv power and disconnect all cables (i started with power cable, then HD cables then HDMI). Wait 30 seconds with nothing plugged in, then I plugged everything back in (in reverse order) and it works fine.

No Picture

As long as you can hook that same cable up to a different TV and get a good picture, you must have somehow damaged the tuner on the APEX - unless the set was mishandled while moving. Those cheaper brands won't take much punishment.
