No bounding box showing up to move

Running short of hard drive only 6 gigs left of 250. No bounding box shows so I can not move clips.

Thanks but I have resolved this problem. I deleted render files for other projects through the menu under project. This gave me plenty of memory on the C drive.

However, I do have another problem related to boot up of Avid Liquid 7. I get message on boot up of: Cannot load Adorage support-library. Please install the new adorage plug-in. I click it 3 times and it goes away and the boot up continues. And I guess related to this is that I can not get the Smart Sound generated music on any clip. Any suggestions on this?

    Thanks

How do i transfer my data from my old la cie 80 gig 107443, to my new la cie 250 gig 300770? both boxes look the same, with the same connections [firewire, usb, 2 others].

Connect both drives to the computer at the same time. If you don't have enough USB ports, connect one to a USB port and the other to a Firewire port. Open a file management window (Explorer in Window, Finder in Mac OS) for each drive. Click and hold the left mouse button (only mouse button on most Mac models in the window for the 80 Gig drive and drag across several folders/files to select them. Release the mouse button, then click on and drag the selected group to the new drive window. When this copy operation is done, repeat with another group of files.

You could select (-A or -A) and drag everything on the old drive at one time, but sometimes the system will bog down on copying large amounts of data (greater than 4-8 GB at a time).

Its a 250 gig hard drive and its saying that the memory on the hard drive is a 14.9 gig hard drive. it won't allow for it to put windows 7 back on it. It says there are no drivers on the hard drive on...

This hard drive needs to be repartitioned and formatted first then you should see actual amount. You can do this when selecting the drive in windows 7 installation

Make sure the drive is listed in the BIOS matching your serial, model number, etc incase you purchased this from ebay or second hand.

When I plug in my Lacie external hard drive to my computer, it freezes up the Computer window when I am browsing my drives. Eventually it shows up, but shows that it has no files on it and doesn't say how...

try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/f which will automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive
good luck with this

The easiest way will be to format the disk drive. Highlight the icon, right click and format.

Installed a 250GB WD Scorpio and it shows as a 130GB drive

make sure the laptop will handle a drive bigger than 130 gig. if not make two partitions when you set it up, bios wont see it but usually windows will. also, sometimes ive found that if i delete the partition a few times it eventually reads right. dont know why but have done it that way several times. you can also download a diskmanager program from thier website which makes an overlay if your bios wont support a 250.

Upgrading from 250 gig hard to a 500 gig hard and says mismatch. my first hard drive is dead

hi pete,

changing the bios will do the trick, find one that is most compatible with aspire 1640 for a 500gig hd, once you have this replaced, it will work.

Hard drive keeps losing space lol

Are you surfing the internet a lot?  You may be getting a lot of temporary files.  Here is something to try.  In internet explorer go to tools / internet options / delete cookies, delete files (all offline contect) and clear history.  This should help some.  You are always going to go down in space.  Windows updates automatically on a regular basis.  This will cause a decrease in available hard drive space.
