You must determine first if the problem is hardware (a faulty part) or software (a bad setting): with the tv on just press the Menu button from the case of the tv - if nothing is visible on the screen then it's hardware. Since it's a hardware problem then you must open the tv and try to find out the faulty part - usually, on a tv of that age, the capacitors from the power source fail, they must be replaced. You need at least a basic experience with electronics - you must know how to unsolder, clean a solder point and solder back another piece - if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise call a certified repairman.
Since it's six months old even if you would have found the receipt they wouldn't have taken it back - you can do that only in the first week. The tv is in the warranty period - surely you have received a warranty bulletin when you bought it. Either way your problem has been fixed - solution = get your tv repaired by a pro.
