Question about Belkin (F5D7230-4) Router (587009)
Hi I use Virgin Media broadband and have set up a Belin Router so that we can access internet wirelessly. We can get onto the internet and can access websites etc, but the problem (which is very infuriating) is that when we are on the internet the internet keeps disconnecting.
I use a belkin wireless adapter and the icon is a blue screen when connected to internet, but everynow and again the icon turns red and then I get the windows msg that the network cable disconnected. I go downstairs to the router. The router has one light on (it has a few flashing when it the internet is working), I turn router off then on again and the internet comes back on but it is very annoying to have to keep running up and down the stairs all the time.
I had updated the routers firmware and it has not made any sig improvements, i dont know what else to try apart from buying another (non Belkin) router. can anyone help?
Try changing the channel of the router to 1,9 or 11, and make sure that there is no cordless phone near the router or the wireless computer, this will help mionimize wireless interference. If this may not work you may want to adjust some settings on the advance wireless settings of the router like the beacon(set it to 50) and RTS/fragmentation(2304).

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Do you have DHCP enabled on your PC? Sounds like you are not getting the IP address.
