Question about Canon PowerShot A95 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My zoombrowser program will not recognize when my camera is attached to the computer with the supplied cord. The computer recognizes that a camera is found, but will not let the program recognize it. Lately, I've also been getting the note: invalid class string. Then I have to uninstall the complete canon program and install it all over again. Then the program works, but still says no camera found. And, the camera is set in the mode to load to the program.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Canon ZoomBrowser or any other photo cataloging program.

Norton has changed your registry...that's why the camera is no longer recognized. Solve your problem the way the pros do....use a card reader.

Cannot download video to windows vista

A USB cable will not transfer video from this camera. you have to have the video cable, which plugs in at the bottom of the front of the camera, next to the S-video. Hope this helps.

Software not being recognized

The software on the CD is slightly outdated. Here is the driver download page for your camera: http://alpha02.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?RQF=MENU&RQS=WWUCA910&LA=1187365946277&SV=WWUCA1351&TRF=MAIN You probably don't need the drivers, but they're there if you do need them. What you do need is "ZoomBrowser EX5.8b Updater for Windows" Although it says it's an updater, you can use it even if you aren't updating anything. This includes CameraWindow, and all the software that would be on your CD.
