    Would also suggest you have; 1) Computer unplugged from power. 2) Follow Anti-Static Precautions BEFORE you reach inside your computer. [ Anti-Static Precautions: Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out the delicate computer hardware components, in a personal computer. Again computer unplugged from power. Working on a table, open the computer case. TOUCH the metal frame of the open computer case, to relieve your body of Static. Should you get up in the middle of working on your computer, upon your return be Sure to touch the metal frame again. 3) The small black rectangular objects, on the side/s of a ram memory module, are DRAM chips. This area of the ram memory module is the Body. Below the Body you will see gold plated contacts. Handle the ram memory module by the Body. Suggest you use a pencil eraser, and clean each contact. PLUS use air from a can of compressed air for computers, and spray air into the ram memory slots on the motherboard, (Yes, even if there wasn't a ram module in it), AND use air to remove the eraser dust from cleaning. (The beeps you hear are BIOS Beep Codes. It's a modified Phoenix BIOS that is used in a Dimension 4600. Could follow within Phoenix BIOS beep codes, and/or AMI BIOS beep codes. { Look up BIOS Beep Codes on the 'net}

Just Refix RAM sticks and start your pc.Its better you refix the hard disk connectors also. Normally its because RAM issue. Just open the CPU cover and clean the RAM slots and refix RAMs. You can put one by one if you have multiple RAMs. check with different RAM slots. If you still get this sound you need to get new RAMs

RAM will look like as in below picture

i removed the hard drive and put it back now it - 4384810.jpg

Computor beeps

its a POST test beeps. POST = power on start test, it is finding a power issue in your computer, it could be anything but i would start by removing one part at a time see if the computer starts if nothing changes put it back do this one by one see if it anything inside (start with cd drive, then hard drive then video card) after those its either one of 2 things either your power supply is bad or your motherboard is dead/dying (most likely your motherboard in my experiences)

I have a question regarding my cpu dell inspiron..Heres my problem: 1. when i start my pc sometime the fan is spinning then suddenly its stop adn run again and then I dont hear any beeps form the board. I...

There is a circuit on the motherboard that detects the ambient temperature of your computer. Your CPU fan has 2 speeds - if it detects the temperature inside your desktop getting hot, it will switch the CPU fan to hi-speed. If you removed the memory and powered on the computer and don't hear any Beep codes then you probably have a problem with the the motherboard and it needs to be replaced. disconnect cables to CD/DVDdrives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

At startup I get 6 beeps. No video. hard drive had a virus on it. was working just find before the virus. ( clean the virus off). was also getting message " hit atny key to wake from sleep mode." not...

Do the beeps have a sequence? like 2 long, 2 short, 2 long. It is very helpful to know the beep code. Remove your video board ( if you have one ) and see if the same beeps occur. If not, put video back in very firmly and remove all memory chips. Same beep code? Put in one memory chip in the slot A1 conn.
Does this help you? If there is no change, jumper your rtc to wipe out battery. wait 30 sec. then put jumper bck to normal position. If you can, removing the nickel Battery would be a good idea for 30 sec. Make sure to put it back in. If you're still getting the same beep code, or if it has changed to a new tempo, we are on the right track and you will be able to fix it.

I have a dell 4600c When i turn it on it powersup but no video

unplug your computer
Open the computer case up, reseat the memory by removing it and putting in one ,and starting the system, and check all power cables are connected. Do this to each memeory module that you have to test your memory.
IF that doesn't work remove , memory, hard drive cd/dvd drive, and printer etc.turn system on and if it does not beep then the motherboard is bad. The motherboad should beep to indicate that their is no memory. No beep equal no response from the motherboard. hope that helps.

Dell deminson 4600 fails to power up, power supply tested ok.

No beebs, no bueno. Unplug the power cord. Unplug the wide multi colored adapter from the motherboard and reseat it. make sure the other conntections are firm while you're down there and have the case open.
If you don't know what I'm talking about or don't want to crack open your PC then buy a new Dell and hae someone slave up your drive and transfer the information.

Dead pc

try to remove all external device connected to your computer. just leave the keyboad, mouse and monitor connected.
restart computer.
if still a blank screen
remove everything connected to your computer (mouse kyeboard and monitor) restart if nothing happens
open your computer and remove all devices (hard drive, optical drives, memory... restart,,, you should be hearing beeping sounds indicating motherboard is looking for memory. try putting back 1 memory at a time and checking all mem slot. to identify if one of the memory could be causing the blank screen. if both memory will not work try to use known good working memory. if you dont get to hear the beeping sound using a known good working memory. your memory is the problem.
give me more info
