Replace the overload/relay which is plugged onto the side of the compressor . Easily replaceable with only 2 or 3 wires . Take your model number so you get the correct part .

Unfortunately, I can tell if the compressor is bad by feeling how hot it is. You should be able to touch it and will be almost a bit cooler than hot. If it is not running and your compressor is really hot, I am sorry but your compressor is bad.

Freezer on and off

Could be a couple problems. The thermostat may not be making the contacts close to tell the compresser to turn on all the time. The compresser could be overloading which would be caused by overheating (clean the condenser). The freezer and frige evaperators may be becoming frozen up due to a bad defrost timer. When the freezer warms up check to see if the compresser is running, if it is not put your hand un it, if it is hot then it's overloading and should be replaced. If it is running and isn't really hot check to make sure all of the fans are running, should be one condenser fan and one on each evaperator. And look for ice build up inside the freezer and fridge. If all the fans are running and coils are clear and compresser is running next st is a plugged cap tube which is the metering device to the evaperators. The mechanic can trim them down six inches and fill the system and they should work great again. Hope this helps

My Frigidaire Model # FRS26LF7DS7 is not cooling!

Could be a few problems. What I would do is check to see if the compresser is running by pulling out the fridge and pulling the back panel off and putting your hand on the compresser. If it Is vibrating then it is running. If it is not vibrating but very hot then the compresser is dead and needs to be replaced. If the compresser Is cool and not running I would say the thermostat inside the fridge is dead(bad contacts in the control). If the compresser is running but no cooling, the cap tube which is the metering device for the refrigerant into the freezer evaperator could be plugged off. Or if none of the lines off of the compresser are hot or cold then the valves inside the compresser are gone and compresser needs to be replaced hope this helps

Where is the defrost timer in a GE GSS22JET

Defrost timer should be located at the back of the fridge at the bottom around the compresser, it is usually a little black box. Is the evaperator in the freezer iced up? If it is not, I would check the thermostat for proper operation or the compresser. If the compresser is very hot and not running, your compresser is on its way out, but if it is running and there is a hot line and cold line coming off of the compresser then I would say you have a plugged cap tube ( the metering device that gos into the evaperator in the freezer). In which case a repair man needs to cut about six inches off of it and re fill the refrigerant.

2005 ford focus zx4 ac compresser making noise when ac is turned on

Yes, it could be the ac clutch or the compressor itself.

2002northland 36" refridgerator and freezer not

The compressor should turn on after it cools. It shuts down if it overheats to prevent damage/fire. The compressor itself could be bad but more than likely the fan is dead.

Danby wine cooler compresser not running and is hot

The compressor needs to be tested to see if it's operational. This normally needs to be done by a service tec.

2002 trailblazer. the air all of the sudden started blowing HOT air! also when air is turned on the rpms drop dramaticaly and have even stalled the engine a few times! what gives?

Do you have standard environmental controls or are they of the digital type for one? As far as the RPM's dropping hard, you can have a dry compresser. try a can of " R134 with oil " sounds to me that if all this just started happening with the HOT air and the engine rpm's dropping. you may heve a leak in the system, and if you continue to run it you can cause sever damage to the compresser.

Air conditioning compressor will not kick in,

If it is above 100PSI, you are over charged. Any thing under, should be normal to low. You probably need to get it checked by a professional to make sure it has the correct charge, and the compressor is getting power when the switch is turned on.

Frigerator runs constanly till compresser gets to hot

Sounds like it might be the thermostat
sensor bulb is defective see if you can
turn the refrigerator off with the thermostat
the defrost heater is supposed to heat up
enough to open the defrost thermostat

Make sure the defrost timer works to
turn on lhe heater & turn off the defrost tstat
turn the power off and check the tstat & defrost
heater for continuity check to see if tstat open
and closes when you turn the knob,

if you remove the tstat you can check the
bulb in ice water and warm water aborv 40
to see if tstat cycles on and off
