Question about CD Players
A CD is stuck in the player. The tray is out & won't go back in. When power is on, the tray just spins. With the cover off, I can see the CD is held in place but I can't get it out. Is there a release button or other way to correct?
There is a flat ribbon cable on the inside that is defective. The cable needs to be replaced and the loading mechanism retimed. This is a simple repair for a repair shop. Expect the ribbon cable to run around $10. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost. I've done many of these. This is a common problem with age.
