One green vertical line in 42" samsung plasma tv mfd. last 2008

A thin line, like a pencil line, all the way from the top to the bottom is most commonly associated with the display itself.
In your case a 42 inch panel. These are no longer available from most manufacturers, and even if it were it would be cost prohibitive
Something like: Core Price 250.00 Part Price 1200.00
Total Price 1450.00
.plus about 150.00 shipping because it is considered oversized

Win 7, Samsung LCD, initial BIOS display. Then vertical lines. If choose BIOS setup also scrolling vertical lines (looks like barcode) Thank you!

Hi,

If the lines appear in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) setup, you are having problem with the LCD.

Here are some parts to check. Either you need to reinsert or replace.
- LCD cable
- LCD inverter
- LCD itself

Note: The LCD inverter fails often than other LCD assemblies.

Hope this helps.

I keep getting a 2 inch wide section of vertical lines on my dell e173fpf monitor. How do I fix it?

Hello,

Vertical lines are usually caused by 2 things, either your graphics card is going bad or your screen is going bad. How you check if it is your graphics card is by plugging it into a different monitor (if you have one). If not perhaps
you can try plugging the e173fpf monitor into a different computer and if the lines still appear then you know its the monitor. If the lines DO NOT appear then you know its the graphics card going bad.

I hope this helps.

Best of luck!!

No pitcure display only horizontal line appears

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The horizontal line indicates failure in the vertical section. Almost always, this would be a faulty vertical IC. In some instances, it can be or may include the diode, limiting resistor and filter capacitor coming from the FBT providing the Vertical B+ ~ 28VDC. You would need a DVM/VOM to check for the presence/absence of voltage.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Display

HI,
Disconnect the monitor from the computer and check if the vertical line still appears on the screen . If yes the monitor needs to be replaced.
Generally all viewsonic screens come with 3 yr warranty and you can call them up for repairs or replacements .

Thanks
